Beginner protein advice - 21 April 2008 10:49
Hey guys,

Ive been training for a while now and have got some Maximuscle Promax protein to supplement the protein in my diet.

What i want to know is this:

I train from 8-9pm at night and need to know if i should have my chicken/vegetable meal before (at say 6pm) or after training(at say 9:30pm)?

Also, should i take the protein shake with water straight after training or should i have it with milk before bed? Does it make much difference?

Cheers
Arif

An hour and a half before you should have a carb protein meal. After workout whey in water or whey+carb source in water, followed by a meal an hour later consisting of protein + carbs. Again this is dependent on goals too.

But looking at your diet in your other thread you seem to have a demanding schedule from the timings, do you have a final proposed diet yet which you can post up clearly stating pre, post workout nutrition?

Not really sure tbh mate. Struggling to get a solid plan and idea of what i should be aiming to eat. Want to build muscle ultimately but not insanely, and i dont want to over-eat and layer fat back on.

Soem thing like this may help you:
http://www.myprotein.co.uk/your-goals/lean-muscle/

Try to eat every 2-3 hours, Make sure you have your Protein's carbs's and fats in there i.e. dont just eat just protein every meal.

And as Nigepoo says " Eat, Monatior , Adjust Acordingly " ( Excuse the spelling! )
