i have kinda become addicted to pasta and pesto :) have it everyday so far for like nearly 2 weeks just wondering if pesto is healthy to eat?

What's in your pesto though? The basic constituents would be olive oil, basil and pine nuts .... often you find it with cheese in it as well, maybe parmesan or pecorino.

yeah its the sacla original pesto has both those cheeses in

Wouldn't worry.I use that alot.Love the organic tomato one they do.Could think of alot worse things to eat.

Most of the ingredients in it are pretty healthy so I'd say get stuck in. I would say though, be a little conscious of the calorie content if you're cutting. If you're not - don't worry about it!

It's worth noting that the different types of jarred pesto have quite different calorie counts; the green one seems to be the highest, the aubergine one and the tomato one are quite a lot less calorific.

The one I saw today was made with 50% vegetable oil so some are far from ideal mate.

mmmm pesto. If you get the fresh stuff refridgerated in sainsburys thats gorgeous, tastes really freah and its all olive oil.
