from may 5th i am starting to cut for the summer. However i'm a fussy eater and don't have a clue where to start on a cutting diet. i can give a list of foods i do like, protein- chicken, turkey, steak, eggs, tuna, cod, haddock. carbs- pasta wholemeal or granary bread, pasta, jacket potato. fruit and veg- peas, carrot, sweetcorn, apples, grapes. any idea on sauces/ marinadeing to spice it up as a full week of tasteless dieting often results in a pizza or curry as a treat meal on a weekend.

Hi Tom. If the tuna is tinned, you have no decent source of omega-3 fats in your diet. If you don't like fresh or tinned wild salmon, sardines, pilchards, mackerel, herring, trout, fresh tuna etc, see http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/m_2624421/mpage_1/tm.htm#2625002 Eat ~20% less calories than you are at the moment. Get ~1g of protein for every lb of your current bodyweight. Get the rest of your calories from carbs and varied fats. The more intense exercise you do, the more carbs & less fats you should be eating. Then monitor your progress and adjust accordingly. If you lose less than 1lb a week, eat less carbs & fats. If you lose more than 2lbs a week, eat more carbs & fats. Finally, you can spice up your food using a splash of Lea & Perrins, peri-peri, sweet chilli, tabasco or mint sauce, jerk seasoning, mustard etc. One cheat meal a week is fine if it helps to maintain your sanity.
