westley50 -> bulking and trimming (Apr. 22 2008 11:54:28)

hi guys im quite new to all this, i was just wondering what was the difference between bulking and trimming? my idea of it is to bulk you are adding the muscle and trimming you are keeping the muscle but loosing the fat??? is that right? and if so what routines would you use to do this. at the moment i have just started a bulking routine. but i will be going in the royal marines in September so im going to have to start to trim nearer to that time.

any help is much appreciated

cheers

wes

hi Wes,

Bulking is adding mass, trimming is reducing fat.

In terms of training you really don't need to change your weights routine, it will all depend on your diet and your cardio training. The more cardio you add in the fitter you will get and the more calories you will burn. By reducing your food intake you also reduce the calories you consume.

There are a number of good weight routines posted on the site. Have a look and see which one takes your fancy.

Depending on how much excess fat you wish to lose will decide when you should think about increasing fitness etc.

Give us some more detail about you, age, weight, chest, waist etc and i can see what would be benefical for you.

Cheers
Oz
