Although not ideal, would white potato be ok for PPWO meal? Don't like the way sweet potatos are sweet

Also if I were to cut my potato into chips (sweet / white) boil for a while and then deep fry in extra virgin olive oil would this be bad for me or ok?

Cheers

they would be fine PPWO, i wouldnt fry them for PPWO though as this will slow digestion. I'm not sure if frying them will make them 'bad' for you as such...everything is fine in moderation!

Cut sweet pots or normal pots into wedges (with skin) put on baking tray, drizzle olive oil, salt, pepper, and some chilli flakes or maybe curry powder or cayene pepper on then and grill under a medium grill or bake in an oven for 20 mins ish. VERY nice IMO

Potato is not that good of a carb source. It has a GI of 90, when Sugar is about 140. There are plenty better!

i have found it really makes no difference if you eat a potato or the equal carbs from oats (for example).

i think a lot of this stuff is overhyped.

I think PPWO (after your shake, assuming it has carbs in) is fine to contain fats/slow carbs/protein tbh.

We replenish the glycogen stores and curb the catabolism from the workout with high GI carbs, then to avoid the plummeting blood sugar levels and continue to refill them a slow digesting meal should do the job.

I dont see why fats in PPWO would be a problem, after a carb+whey shake.

as far as i know it has to do with the fats slowing the abs. of protein/carbs

The GI/GL of potatoes varies greatly with variety, cooking duration and temperature when served, so you can't quote a single figure. The GI of table sugar is 68 (on the glucose = 100 scale).
