Been training (properly) for about 9 months now. Trying to gain muscle mass and am using a four day split. Having read most of the posts on how important diet and nutrition is, i try to keep to a strict, healthy and supporting diet for my training. I am 17, 5' 11" and 70kg (10st). I find that any fat that i gain from excessive calories goes straight to the belly and it really annoys me, i have a thick layer of fat mainly on my belly. In order to gain muscle i need to eat, but most of my gains are under an inch of fat? Any advice on how to keep the fat gains to a minimum when bulking would be appreciated, thanks.

As a beginner(ish) you should find it relatively easy to gain muscle without fat- and maybe lose fat at the same time.

Aim to keep a small calorie surplus- weight gain should be slow if you want to keep fat off- and your diet should be clean. Cardio will also help with everything, even on a bulk

Could you post up a typical day's eating with timings- a rough guide will do
