Tried these at the gym today and found them quite hard work....

I did them standing on an aerobic step which seems much easier than on the floor. I can manage about six on the box but only ever managed one from the floor.

Does anyone else do these and how do you find them ?

No, never.

I do them and find them hard. The secret it to 'learn' the movement. It's more a skill than strength but flexibility is a huge component but so it balance and they are actually easier to do holding a weight in front of you for this reason.

It sounds like you have them down already but is that arse to heel?

A good way to develop the full range of motion is to do them in a doorway with the 'free' leg running along the wall and the leg that is working in line with the wall so you can hang onto the door frame.

Cheers guys,

I can go quite low when standing on a box. Why does it seem easier when standing on a box than off the floor ?
