actually i didnt, if u look back i said i thought utd would win 0-1, but the best player in the world ****ed that right up for them by giving a master class display on the pitch and on penalty taking

even the best in the world have off days , messi wasn't exactly feckin cintilating either was he?
I don't watch enough world football to say if ronaldo is the best player in the world or not, all I know is I would rather have him in my team than not, he can win a game from nothing, he is excellent entertainment to watch, and I think he's sh!t hot, IMO of course

Messi has just come back from a fairly long-lay off but he still looked better than Ronaldo IMO

and the fact is, it was another big game, the biggest of Utds season, Ronaldo did not perform seemed to be like the old ronaldo when he first joined, wasteful and no end product, and also missed a pen which would have given utd 1 foot and a few toes in the final,
If he can not perform and score when he is gifted the chance in these sort of games surly he can not be claimed 2 be the worlds best just yet??

Best in the world not quite yet.

well there is an even bigger game next tuesday, so he has a chance to make ammends,
and if he doesn't perform to your liking in the return leg but united go through to the final that will do for me,
as for the pen miss, sh!t happens, he hasn't missed for the 38 goals (and counting) he's scored this season, so he's entitled to miss one or two, he's earned the right to miss one or two,
he could get the winner next tuesday, he could get the winner on saturday, he could even get the winners against wigan and west ham, he is good enough to get them all,
Ask any united fan, they don't care if he's the "best in the world" they don't care that other fans say "he doesn't do it in big games" if he doesn't get another goal this season he will still have had an exceptional season for a winger, no question.

Messi = different class, a special talent. If the boy can stay injury free, he could be as good as, in this generation, Zidane and Ronaldhinio.

Ronaldo = Again no performance, however to be fair he was very isolated, he needed to come into the game more, however i feel SAF got his tatics wrong. Should have kept Rooney in the middel where he causes problems and brings away defenders to leave the runners, i.e Ronaldo for space to attack.

Man Utd struggle against teams who can play good possesive football. Personally feel it is advantage Barca. 1 goal at Old Trafford would leave Man Utd needing 2.

time will tell if tonight was a good result or not, but before the game today I would have been happy with a draw, a score draw would have been better, but to my mind a draw is better than a loss, so it's all to play for in the second leg, should be a better game and the better team will win.

P.S. ronaldo = no performance, well I think you could say that about all uniteds attacking players tonight, but I think thats what fergie wanted , not to let a goal in and nick one if we can, unfortunately we didn't, but I still think united are capable of beating barcelona next week.

Just over a month,So who would you rather in your team, messi or ronaldo?

Unbelievable crticism of ronaldo, they guy is 22 and has been awesome this season yet hes still criticised, ronaldo was up top on his own, which is a very difficult position to play.

But who for united most looked like creating something tonight?

Only 1 player for me looked like making something happen and that was ronaldo.

It's not criticism of Ronaldo, however he has been touted as the worlds best on this board time and again.

However again he failed to live up to the hype in United's biggest game.

you're not going to get any sense out of opposing fans when you talk about ronaldo, everybody loves to hate him, tells you something though, doesn't it

Ronaldo has never scored against Chelsea so 3 is highly unlikely

a hat trick against chelsea for any player is not "highly likely" but it's not impossible.

There is some criticism of ronaldo, and i think right now he is the worlds best,as theres no player in the world doing what hes doing.

But certainly messi has the ability to be the best in the world, but due to injuries he hasnt been able to get on any sort of run this season.

I watch alot of barcalona and messi, and i can assure you messi will be dissapointed with his performance tonight, as probly will ronaldo, but ronaldo has a big chance to prove himself next tueday at old trafford.

You would always expect barcalona to have the majority of the ball on there own turf, but what i would like to know is,if ronaldo is not currently the best player in the world, then who is??
