Right, Only my second post on this site and we gots to iron this out right now so lets get this debate going immediately. I train 5 times per week, (been seriously training for 1.5 yrs) and diet is A1 impeccable. Bulking at the moment so taking on shedloads of 1st class protein and carbs etc. Use whey protein in shakes 2-4 times per day depending on other natural intake. I'm serious about training and in time will be asking you guys about routines, striking up some motivational banter with a few of you and generally having a good time on here striking up dialogue with like minded people who want to live long, train hard and look good. Here's the crunch, my chick is sexy and fit as hell. She goes to her own gymbo too. However, I've always had a pretty quick metabolism and it will come as no surprise that the protein makes me fart like a f***ing Trojan. Chick knows this and is seriously getting pissed about it. If I have to go outside to fart out of her way, I may aswell sell my flat and live homeless as it's pretty much constant! IS THERE ANYTHING OUT THERE TO STOP THIS? And I aint giving up the shakes! Thanks. You can all stop laughing now and respond with your own stories or solutions!

Carbs make me fart the most. Personally if your chick dosn't dig you enough to get over a bity of wind, which lets face it is perfectly natural, then....

Thanks for the responses so far. I just can't see that changing my whey is going to change anything - though definitely willing to give it a try. My diet cannot be altered as it's by the book, I'd end up eating **** if I was to change it. All the regular carb and protein sources are being used and can't see how changing the chicken to tofu will do anything! Hmm.

I have a possible solution for you. Most people are lactose intolerant to some degree. This often manifests itself in voluminous, noxious farts. Whey concentrate has a lot of lactose in it. If this is your problem (and i believe from personal experience that it is) then using a whey isolate may well help you. It doesn't taste so nice, and it's more expensive, but it's definitely worth a try.

USN shakes used to make me fart a lot, I think because there is a lot of glutamine in their stuff. Changed to something else and end of problem.

daveo many thanks - good advice. I use Maxi's Cyclone and Promax (yeah I know it costs!) which has pretty minimal levels of Lactose. But could look at something like Re-Flex's micro whey...

Let the shakes settle before you drink them otherwise you're drinking 'air'. Try charcoal capsules to mask the smell.

Very good advice kitty, thanks for that, I do neck it almost immediately (as it says on the tin!), but may try this as you're absolutely right, you consume alot of air when necking it. Never tried charcoal tabs, what are they?

Charcoal is supposed to absorb smells. (Think cooker extractor hoods)

Some Cheaper brands use lower grade high lactose Whey as well as alot of THickening gums etc these are known to cause stomach problems in some .. I would advise changing your brand as some are much worse than others .. certain ones found on the high street are renown to clear a room at 100 yards for instance Wurz

daveo's most likely hit the nail IMO. Definitely try different brands, some for me are terrible, others fine, find what works for you.

I have the same problem, I use protein from a variety of sources and could fart for England. (Especially bad when using liquid egg whites). I have to keep excusing myself from the room to avoid offending the Mrs.

Cheers Celt, Yeah I think daveo's nailed some good advice too. So im using maxi's cyclone and promax. The results from these have been phenomenol. Used this from day from as advised by very good friend who's built like a brick wall, 6ft 6 and all natural. He's trained for 15 years and swears Cyclone is the best after using every single other whey out there. I followed suit and the results were phenomenol like I say, so have been reluctant to change. But happy to give something else a try now..

I would advise changing your brand as some are much worse than others .. certain ones found on the high street are renown to clear a room at 100 yards for instance Wurz A comment by a well known adviser in the latest issue of MD seems plausible. He mentions, as many will know, the bastard price rises in raw materials has hit the industry hard yet some products pricing has barely changed even now - months later. He suggested that some companies might well have changed their formula. So a product which was high grade might no longer be. Hence the change to other products (esp Isolate) hints. Secondly, why would the 'training 5 days a week' be seen as a good thing. Add to that the 'my diet is spot on' but then says '2-4 drinks a day depending on diet'. That suggests it isn't always as good as it might be. I rarely use 4 shakes a day and I haven't paid for my supps in a very long time. It seems as those stoodio is using these to show how serious he is when in fact he might well be over training and not eating enough real food. They have little or no baring on his wind and or use of iffy protein.
