As the title said, I'm considering exchanging weight training sessions for cardio (My goal is weight loss, I'm currently at about 13'5 and looking to lose 19 pounds), at the moment my routine looks like this: Monday Resistance Tuesday Cardio (HIIT) Wednesday Resistance Thursday Cardio (HIIT) Friday Resistance Saturday Cardio (HIIT) Sunday Off Day So, if I were to add extra cardio in exchange for my weight training days, would my fat loss goals be reached quicker? (I'm not too worried about bulking or losing a bit of muscle, I want to acheive a lower body fat percentage before I think about a bulk) Also, if it helps, my eating routine looks something like this, I'll try to be as accurate as I can: 9:30 - Breakfast One bowl of plain porridge oats (Sorry I don't normally measure, I'm purely guessing about 30g-40g?) with one cup of skimmed milk. One multi vitamin One flax seed oil tablet 12:00 - Lunch One jacket potato One can of tuna 1:00 - Workout (On HIIT days, I normally run in the mornings, about 7:00, I like the morning breeze ) (I take a whey protein shake before/during/after workout sipping throughout) 2:00 - Meal 3 3 egg wholes omelette Broccolli/Tomato 4:30 - Meal 4 6:30 - Meal 5 (Meal 4 and 5 I normally will have one lean chicken breast for each, or something to do with eggs/tuna/salmon and various other vegetables or fruit, sometimes also I might eat some sort of berries during the day) Thanks in advance!

i would keep at least one fullbody workout per wk to maintane your muscle, there are some studies that say using your 10rm and training once a wk should keep what you have, then you can do 5 days cardio if you feel like it.

my routine looks like this: quote:
(cycle to work 5 days a week - 8 miles a day) mon: conditioning (HIIT type) + 1.5 mile run tues: rest wed: Judo (HIIT) thurs: 3 mile run friday:rest sat:full body weight training + tabata sun:hill sprints i have lost muscle due to the radical change in diet training, but you can happily lose weight and not lose muscle mass , HIIT is excellent for the anerobic aswell as aerobic training - look at a sprinter - HIIT training v marathon runner - endurance training

Well, as it stands at the moment, I eat about five meals a day, at around 400 cals each, so roughly about 2000~ should I lessen how often I eat, or how much I eat, or both?

my wife started crying when she saw a photo of me all bloated and said i had to change. (which was true,i couldnt really play with the kids or anything) i started around july last year , the exersise was the thing that did it for me - i could never lose weight just by adjusting calories (which is why many fail taking that route IMO)

If you look at my original post, it says I eat five meals a day. oops but are you gaining or losing Losing, but I was just wondering if replacing my resistance days with more HIIT I'd ultimately lose even more?
