Whats the rest of your routine like? They could be getting a lot of volume in one week maybe. Try various approaches - volume, intensity, rest periods, when to train them... Personally, 3 sets of CGBP after Chest and Shoulders is starting to work for me. I up the weight each set, and try and get as many reps out, although I do find that a bit lower reps tend to work for me. My last session with CGBP i got 8 reps, upped weight and got 5 reps, then upped weight again and got 4 reps.

Maybe time to look at your form again with a very critical eye? It's easy to put too much shoulder and chest into closegrip presses, and tricep extensions can go easier on the tricep if you don't concentrate on keeping elbows locked in and making the muscle do all the work. Keep the reps slow, pause momentarily at the end of the movement, make sure you're feeling it in the tricep and not elsewhere.

no need to worry about 'lagging' bodyparts until you have at least a couple of years behind you your routine is fine as it is

if you don't concentrate on keeping elbows locked in I dont understand this comment could someone explain? i take it its best not to lockout on skulls? Also i never know where to position my elbows with respect to my hands if that makes sence

Just out of interest how long have you been training and what does your current routine look like in full?? Have you tried just sticking to the basics initially..something like Mark Rippetoes style of routines or a good Pull/Push/Legs+Abs like that reccomended by Frankie NY on this site?? When i first started training i went off of what i read in magazines and it wasnt until i dropped those and stuck with a basic compound routine solidly that i really started to grow.

Also i never know where to position my elbows with respect to my hands if that makes sence Sorry, I didn't explain that very well - I meant keep elbows locked in a fixed position, not flaring out, I didn't mean about locking the joint out. Elbows should be in line with hands as much as possible. It's easier to do if you have a tricep bar rather than an EZ bar; you know, the sort of bar that's like an oval ring with two crossbars inside which you can make a fist around without twisting your wrist. Also, with skulls, if you lower the bar just behind the top of your head rather than to your forehead then at the top of the movement you will keep the tension in the tricep, which is good
