I think you need to address your diet in the first instance.
Can you post up a typical day's eating/drinking - like what did you have yesterday or today...and we'll take it from there

Hullo, welcome to MT!

How much do you weigh?
How active are you during the day? Any sports? What job do you do?
Are you able to do cardio first thing in the morning?

what are you eating typically at the moment- a rough guide will do

edit: ah beat me to it rhF. postwhore

OK the above is dreadful.

Just as a very rough example, here is what I ate yesterday:

8.30am Porridge made with oats and water, dash of skimmed milk
10.00am Small handful nuts, seeds, dried fruit
11.00am 1/2 a head of blanched broccoli in balsamic vinegar and olive oil
12.30pm 200g tub of cottage cheese and huge mixed salad
3pm Apple
4.30pm small pot of fromage frais

5.20pm ** training - 50 mins cardio **

6.30pm Ryvitas and peanut butter
10.00pm A few brazil nuts

Now of course the above is not ideal, you will note that I don't eat much in the evenings. This is down to my own personal 'trial and error'. I don't like the feeling of too much food in my stomach in the evenings as I feel bloated, so over the years I have adapted myself to eat most of my calories during the day. This suits me and it works for me.

But the basic principle there is that I am eating little and often, try to get into this habit. Do you not feel hungry on the meagre amount that you eat? Note - I am eating more than you yet I am steadily losing weight.

A good analogy is one of stoking the fire. If you don't keep putting the coal on it and giving it a prod, it will die down - this is your metabolism. Keep stoking it up and keep it going.

Do you have access to a gym?

ok, thanks..

if i do 45 mins cardio and im trying to lose weight, keeping carbs to a minimum..

i.e 30g breakfast

40g lunchtime

is 70g total adequate ??

should i eat the lunchtime carbs after the 45 mins cardio and keep the small snack of fruit before the cardio? or do i need to have carbs before a cardio workout? would unfuelled be better(morning)?

For fat loss, unfuelled a.m. cardio is the better option, in my opinion.

I don't count carbs, I don't fuss about with it. I do however tend to eat most of my carbs during the day and not really in the evening, just my personal preference.

ok based on the above, i have a few questions to ask

im 5"9
11 stone - 69 kgs - 152 lbs
at a guess im about 23-25% body fat?

ive been reading to lose 1lb of fat per week id need a 3500 calorie defecit.

how many lbs would i need to lose to lower my body fat to around 12-15% (just as a starting point)? am i right in saying its around 25lbs of fat?

how do i know how many lbs of muscle i have?

im on a maintainance diet taking in 2200 calories, of which all are clean..
carbs in morning and post workout.

how many calories do i use a day just to live, and go about my day in a relatively easy manner? am i breaking even? if so does the following make a deficit...?

say i burn 600 calories a day on a cardio session? is this enough to sufficient a 1lb a week fat loss, if i do this 5 times a week and eat clean every day, (bar the cheat day, which is still clean)

fella do you weight train as well as cardio? What happened to your hand if you dont mind me asking?

a tip from me:
Sack the orange last thing at night, go with green veggies instead. The body uses more energy to break them down than they give out when broken down.
