DJing is all about who you know really, ragardless of how good you are. Doubt I'll ever follow that up now.

Racing would be a dream come true for me, though it must be an unbelievably competitive industry.

I'll have to sleep on it. I've got the day off work tomorrow to view a flat and see the housing benefit people to see what I'm entitled to, hopefully put things in a new perspective for me.

Thanks for your help!

No problems mate.

Hope it goes well tomorrow.

I'm in the same boat except i'm 19. Can't get an apprenticeship anyway, don't want to go to uni - there doesnt seem many options at the moment.

OT

Just seen your in Stoke on Trent, Kier have just taken over stoke city council, you will probably have seen their vans about, their apprentice scheme starts May/June time, not too late to get your name down to be considered for it, worth a try bud.

i'm 28 and have screwed around career wise so much its unture, it hasnt helped me the fact that i've always been able to earn money, even when at uni i was earning more than my 9-5 working mates.

it doesnt look too good on my c.v. though now i'm trying to get into the corporate world, which is where i want to be as i want to test my business skills out.

its never too late is my only advice, whether that be for going back to uni or learning a trade.

Im in exactly the same position, im 24 moved rom job to job, have no real quals, im now in recruitment been doing it 2 years and HATE it with a passion !!!!!!!

I have no idea what I want to do I have not found my "passion" in life either, my job pays good money but doesnt make up for how bad it is, I have often thought about doing a night class in a trade or trying to get on an apprenticeship before its too late but I couldnt live on apprneticeship wages !!!!!!

Im definately having a quarter life crisis !!!!!!

Lots and lots and lots, but I'm used to earning now, I have bills and debts to pay, I also used 2 of the 3 years worth of government student loan, I don't know how I could feasible go to uni now? I'd love to study a science of some sort.

Its tricky as if you dont know what you want to do then its hard to advise.

The bottom line is you are going to have to think of something.

maybe sticking with a utility theme as you know a bit about it and get into consulting, there are companies who specialise in Uc and then there are other jobs where utility are part fo the scheme but your designing internal services on developments, comes more under building services.

its nothing really like the stuff you would be doing for a contractor.

its the only job i could really advise you about.

Unless you want to fall into financial trouble you can not afford to be too choosy.

Why not work in an office/bank/etc and attend a distance/part time/evening course to boost your qualifications?

This is my current thinking. I'm currently trying to find somewhere to live, and looking for a new job (banking may be a good option), then I'll look into evening classes I think.

It makes sense. There are many ways to progress within a large company with or without qualifications.

You could always do some volutary work for a charity in your spare time.

Sometimes that can open new opportunities.

become an apprentice/unskilled worker (labourer) on a building site, should give you a bit of time to decide if you want a trade, and will also mean money comes in while you are deciding
