I'm not 100% that it isn't. It could be that people see through the BNP and how uncredible they really are. The results later for the mayoral results will show just how Londoners feel. Although looking at the results so far I think Boris is going to take it. quote:

Its amazing labour are losing that many seats nationwide, i expected some but not a landslide like this. Happen to Major 2 years before he lost a general election, its one of them things that is hard to recover from.

So MTs poll is a little indicative of Londoners as Boris has won. BNP managed to get themselves a seat on the London Assembly so it will be interested to see what contribution they give.

It's a sad result for London. We now have half-wit in City Hall.

Johnson isn't a half-wit, just has chosen to act as such in order to win votes. That's the sad part in my opinion, in that an obvious stupidity act is all that's required to obtain power, rather than any real substance. Hardly the greatest endorsement of our political system really.

The sad truth is that we've swapped someone who knows London inside out for someone who (to quote Sir Alan) hasn't a bloody clue.

Yes but to be fair knowing London inside out doesn't mean you do a good job as a mayor! Not that I support Boris either! Personally I thought one of the best candidates was the Lib Dem guy but a) I'm not a lib dem (try to avoid politics anyway) and b) don't know much about their policies as I don't live in London! mcl
