Have to admit that before starting this poll I thought that it would be for first place either Brian Paddick or maybe Ken Livingston and then in 3rd place Boris Johnstone. If MT is indicative of Londoners then looks like it will be Boris for the next four years.

If this poll is indicative of Londoners, then London would seem to be packed out with racists.

How?

John, I just think that Londoner's have had it with Ken, obviously I can only go by my relatives and a few friends, but even strangers i meet seem to have a similar opinion. I think they would like to see someone else in. But they don't necessarily want to see Boris though!!

Simple.

A vote for the BNP is a vote for racism.

Nonsense. I have voted BNP. I'm not a racist and I don't admire mass murderers like Hitler, Stalin or any others.

Then the BNP have hoodwinked you.

Maybe you have no idea what the BNP really stand for.

They are, definitively, the party of racism.

A vote for the BNP could be for adding pressure to the other parties to change their policies, not racism.

I think all politicians are bollocks anyway, scientists should be in power instead, so I won't vote for any of them.

I kinda have to agree with John here, dont be cuped by them, the BNP party cannot seperate those who they would cal British, and those they call immigrants, they have no understnding of who is who, except that you have to be white, and born and raised in britian, it doesnt matter if you are Black Asain Arib and have lived here for generations, if your not white then to the BNP, your not British in their eyes.

On another note, people here could well support the BNP, as we are part of Britian, the BNP, are very much Anti-IRA and the South of Ireland, they havent really said this outloud tho as they would be shot within a day or so, but its an insight into their position.

Nobody is hoodwinked. I voted for them as a protest vote. I've also voted Liberal and I'm not a Liberal, but it seems everyone else is gullible in your eyes.

Anyone who votes for the BNP, but won't accept that they're racist, is either,

a) Incredibly naive and/or ignorant, or
b) A liar.

The BNP have their roots in Neo Nazism. I think most people know this perfectly well. So most will see how a vote for the BNP can easily be considered a vote for racism

There are other right wing and nationalist political parties to vote for, if that's your thing. Some of them are not innately associated with racism. The UK Independence Party would be a good choice if you are right wing and nationalist, but not racist

I don't think John is a twat, in fact I agree with the main point he is making

A vote for the BNP is a vote for racism, in John's view and in my view and let's be realistic here, in the view of most people. People think BNP, they think racism. Why? Because those were the roots of the party, racism is where the BNP comes from

If you are a right wing nationalist (nothing wrong with that) then there are other parties with no ties to racism and no roots in Neo Nazism to vote for. And if you are protest voting, why not vote for an independent or some other party with no ties to racism?

There's nothing inherently special about any political party. They are all just politicians. Why vote for the BNP if you are not a racist? Why not vote for some other right wing nationalist party? Why not protest vote for some other party?

I don't even know what racist means these days. I had to turn off that question time debate, because found the way the issue of racism and immigration was being discussed extremely depressing. It is the one issue that politicians are terrified of getting involved in for fear of being labeled racist. The left knows this only too well, hence they use the accusation of racism whenever the issue raises it's head to stifle any kind of debate.

It'll all end in tears I'm afraid.

John your very quick in giving out your opinion and even quicker in rubishing other people's and twisting their words, I remember a thread not so long ago when you had james down as a racist.

Can you explain exactly why you think I'm a hypocrite?

I get fed up of stuff like this, and I think this is what creates tension amongst white folk. As an Asian it really winds me up when people are afraid to speak out for being termed a racist. Most people regardless of ethnicity know when someone is being racist and when someone is making a fair point. All accusations do most of the time is stifle people and then they end up suppressing thoughts/emotions and then it just takes something to trigger it and then all hell breaks lose.

Just hope a commonsense Major is elected who isn't afraid to speak out and tackle issues that many people think about but dare not bring up.
