dirtyvest -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:01:20)

What do you mean?

pikeman121 -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:04:11)

sorry i didnt explain very well, say for example i was on the exercise bike and did 20 mins if i wore more clothes or something to make me sweat more would this burn more fat? if that makes sense[:)]

dirtyvest -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:09:53)

No, it would make you lose more water weight but this weight would be regained next time fluids are consumed to prevent dehydration.

(altho some would argue the increased body temp may induce some fatburning action as the body acts to cool but in reality it is negligable)

Ak_88 -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:10:08)

No it would just make you lose more water, which you would regain when drinking.

pikeman121 -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:13:23)

ok thanks [:)] so just a high heart rate is needed then?

Aks -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:14:39)

You need the heart rate best for loosing fat. I believe its between 50-60 ( i may be wrong though) but if its too intense its cardio and not fat burn.

pikeman121 -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:15:00)

also my friend told me that they know a boxer that wears a bin bag( yes a bin bag[:D] ) and does loads skipping while pouring with sweat , so there would be no point?

R3261 -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:16:52)

looking at it another way

running on a treadmill with a weighted vest is another way to increase calorie expenditure, even if it's very small

i would feel a t1t doing cardio in anything but my lycras

Aks -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:17:35)

I wear a sweat suit sometimes, it just gets you used to working out in conditions where your more dehydrated and it will get you hotter alot quicker and get your heart rate up quicker.

Aks -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:18:55)

O and cardio is basically how long you can go on for e.g. for the marathon i was doing alot of cardio work (obviously i lost weight too) and will ensure you can run longer and stuff (works your heart more) but fat burn is just to get rid of fat, won't really make you fitter.

dirtyvest -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 18:21:40)

If a boxer needs to meet a weight limit they will sweat out a few lbs for the weigh-in.... the weight soon goes back on tho.

Intense cardio does burn fat just not at such a high %age calories burned but I don't worry too much, just enjoy your cardio, who's to say that if you train intensely and burn more calories the lower %age of fat may still be a higher real figure when all is done and dusted.

cardio high more intense fittness training heart beat is quicker, fat burning is slow steady pace, for 40-60mins

pikeman121 -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 19:20:40)

cheers for replies will go for 40-60 mins as col says [:)]

Aks -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 20:23:38)

Its more enjoyable running in the open than it is on a tredmill and its also better for you running in the open. When training for the marathon i hated running in the gym so forget your gym memebership for going for a run, take a nice 40, 50 min run outside.

FatboyGinger -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 25 2008 21:09:26)

I think there is a place where you can buy bin bags for about 5 quid each which claim they help you to lose fat.

If you really want fat burning I highly recommend HIIT

All they'll do is make you sweat more [8|]

sheriff_jonny -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 26 2008 2:34:54)

if you are wearing a sweat suit( bin bag) you will be working at a higher temperature, therefor making the workout more intense, i wouldn't wear a sweat suit myself, nor would i wear lycras even

just t -> RE: sweating burn more fat? (Apr. 26 2008 11:05:14)

lol

hey guess what, im in the "fat burning zone" now, looks like i dont need to do cardio.
