tbh mate i would find another gym, this one seems more trouble than its worth, plus you have to think of your partner too.
all seems a little odd and ott though, so i wouldnt blame you if you took it further to prove the point.

People actually have poles in their bedroom? Wow. cool

I don't think I'd be able to keep a straight face myself lol

But each to their own, if its good exercise etc.

We have a female member who does indeed have such an item in her bedroom and has even posted piccies of her using it whilst she wears her wellies

I've got to admit Kitty, and meant in the nicest possible way as we have no past animosity with each other whatsoever, but you do come across sometimes as a little quick on the trigger with any issue that can in any way be dubbed as anti-female or anything along those lines. Though I understand exactly the kind of stupid comments on here you are trying to help eradicate, sometimes being too vigilant in my view can actually have worse effect, and may even opened yourself up to people deliberately trying to get a rise out of you!

i agree

The buck stops with me folks, not kitty. If you don't like her style then blame me. As the 'boss' I direct. Therefore I am the one open to criticism.

Well not that anybody asked for my view, BUT lemme sock it to ya anyway :P

This whole thread and the comments made just seems very 'Little Britain 'Fat Fighters' to me!!

I don't think the comments Dean made were anti women, I think if there had been male members of the pole dancing group who were over-weight he'd have made the same comments, it just so happened they were all female.

Therefore gender is not the issue.

No mate, you're missing the point, or I did not explain myself clearly, in which case I apologise. What I mean is that it's not on to agree with the paragraph above, what you should be saying is something like:

James, I do not like the way you direct the MT mods to be a little quick on the trigger (examples please) with any issue that can in any way be dubbed as anti-female or anything along those lines. Though I understand exactly the kind of stupid comments on here you are trying to help eradicate, sometimes being too vigilant in my view can actually have worse effect, and may even open yourself and the team up to people deliberately trying to get a rise out of you!

If this is what you mean, then I'll respond.

Spiderman it does sound from your post that the P.D.I has an axe to grind against you and took the opportunity to strike.

As for pole dancing for fitness, I've been forced to attend a class myself (after joking with my then gf, much the same as other members have said in this thread, that it's not excercise) and moves such as the one welshy is demonstrating [very well I may add] holding on to a pole with feet and hands while keeping your body away from the pole takes a lot of strength. Getting yourself upside down on a pole and keeping your body away from it, well I can honestly say that I think 99% of members would fail to do that!

All that being said I did watch the video posted, and all be three of those moves I think anybody walking in off the street could do without effort (although maybe not so flexible)

I've not got to speak to the M.D. yet however this morning have been called by his P.A., Customer Services, and their Press Office to explain in more detail what has happened. Just waiting to hear a resolution now.

A difference of opinion - cos that's what other postees have had (including myself) which differs from yours means no one is correct. Therefore gender could easily be an issue. Only the OP knows truthfully what he meant when he made the comment. That said, although I think he holds some of the blame I still agree that the PDI has some issues and the whole matter could have been handled better.

A bigger issue might be argued regarding why comments needed to be made at all. Even though I think the majority of 'PC' stuff is too, too much how we are and much of what we say and think comes from an ingrained background.

variety is the spice of life and all that and any form of exercise is better than none at all, but in reality is half an hour at a pole dancing class going to have the same effect/calorie output as half an hour on the treadmill, it seems to me as just another novel idea for fitness clubs to draw women in and take their money, i had no idea you could have pole dancing lessons at a gym.

Just found this. This is the actual P.D.I. in question. Make your own mind up . . .

Pole Dancing Routine

Chair Dancing Routine

Tease & Tone @ Fitness First, Wolverhampton

not being out of order or anything i really cant see a fat person doing SLDL style without gettin a bad back
