If you're a(n adult) fan of fantasy you've got to take a look at George RR Martin's 'Of Fire and Ice' series. Fantastic stuff.

Agreed mate, although the 4th was disappointing compared to the first 3 IMO. He says he took a different approach to writing it, so let's hope he's back on track with the 5th

The first 3 books of the Song of Ice and Fire series are literally the best fantasy I have ever read, closely followed by the Assassin series by Robin Hobb and the Malazan Book of the Fallen series by Steven Erikson

Currently about half way through Charles Dickens's The Old Curiosity Shop. It's pretty good so far. Might start Nicholas Nickleby next

I flicked through that in WH Smith's today and I'm wishing I had bought it now, but put it down because the text was too small. It's the same with the last classic I dared to pick up.. Rebecca.

The last book I read was a Freddy Forsyth novel called Afgan.

I've just finished The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger which was excellent and I'm pleased to see they are making a film of.
I've now started reading Friends, Lovers, Chocolate by Alexander Mccall Smith which is shaping up nicely.

I can't go to sleep without reading and so I get through tons of books, I'll read just about anything from Koontz and King through Eddings, Pratchett, Holt, Rankin and classic stuff from Wells, Forster and Nabokov and anything in between. I'll even read technical manuals of there is nothing else.

I always aim to be reading two books on the go. One fiction the other non-fiction.

Currently:
Non-Fiction: The 4 hour work week - Tim Ferris
Fiction : A Confederacy of Dunces - John Kennedy Toole

'The Most Excellent Book of How to Be a Cheerleader' by Bob Kiralfy

It tells you how to make uniform, pom poms, flash cards and a megaphone. It shows you how to chant, cheer, and dance in step-by-step illustrated sequences. It's also got warm ups and jumps, plus tips on game cheering, parades and competitions.

Yeah, Feast for Crows was a bit dissappointing, but Dance of Dragons is one I'm definately looking forward to.

Do we have to put warnings on books we suggest for sexual content? Because everything I suggested has some fairly graphic sex.

I am reading 'Mathematical Statistics with Applications' by Mendenhall. I've got to say that with a total lack of sex, action or intrigue it's been quite disappointing so far.

Great read, very funny novel

Ignatius J Reilly has to be one of the funniest and absurd literary creations I've come across
