Hi guys, recently moved house and town, sadly lost my best friend and working 3 jobs so life is been a bitch the past 8 weeks anyway put your violins away and back me up on this one problem; my fella is very knowledgable and i value his opinion, he trains hard and diets hard and sees amazing results. Now he has been encouraging me to start a keto diet posted on another site, and i keep trying it and failing as it JUST DOESNT FEEL RIGHT, i KNOW that low fat, resticted carb and moderate protein diets work for me and i jst cant get my head round the keto one! as a result of starting and stopping this high fat/protein based diet i have actually gained weight argh So its back to basics for me, can someone tell me if im on the right track (dieting for July 08) Wake - 6.30 45 mins cardio 7.30 - 6 egg whites, 50g porridge Train 11.00 protein shake 1.00 - 1 tin tuna, 75g brown rice and salad 5.00 - turkey and veg, udo's oil 10.00 - protein shake and sugar free jelly I dont eat consistantly at night as i work in a bar from 5.30 till 10ish and cannot eat whilst there. am i doing the right thing sticking to what i know or am i just being weak not giving the keto diet a chance to work (oh i just dont like it) cheers galls xxx and sorry for the long winded post

Sorry to hear about your friend Jessie. I would try and space your meals no more than 3 hours a part, ideally 2.5 if you can. Do you take anything before training? Other than that it's pretty similar to what I eat so I'm not going to complain

Some whey powder and a banana for example might help you a little or a protein shake and then have your meal post workout as soon as possible or have a quick slug of some whey. So you do cardio warly morning and cardio mid morning?? The workout seems ok if it works for you. You could always include biceps with chest and triceps with shoulders (others do chest and triceps and shoulders and biceps)

Awe Sweetie!!!!! Don't beat yourself up. Stick to what you know now and get a routine going 1st then once that is in place look at making changes if you need them. I have to say I'm not very good on too low carbs but I know a lady that does really well on a similar kind of diet and it suits her great with amazing results, that's not to say it suits you though. One step at a time or you will fall over before you start. x I'm still tripping over my feet

I tend to make myself go to the gym for 10mins knowing full well when I get there I'll do more. The worst I find is when I do get to the gym all raring to go and then as soon as I start I just can't be arsed. I leave it or go through the motions and know that my next workout will be better as they can't all be as bad as that. Take the rough with the smooth

Precisely which is why I make myself go and knowing that it might be a good workout in the back of my mind makes me more determined to get there.
