It looks like there wont be many guest stars this year, I had booked 3 people to guest pose, Andi Black, Dave Fox and Malika the suits who run NABBA want to implement a ban on Dave and Mailka which came into place AFTER I had booked them.

I suggest all spectators approach the people who help form the NABBA GB council who will be at the show and complain bitterly about this. I want to point out in no uncertain terms that this has nothing to do with Steph Sinton or me but a political decision made by people who are supposed to have the interests of the competitors and the spectators at heart.

Doug...just read this on another forum. An absolute disgrace. To ban someone from competing is bad enough but then from even guest posing....where is the logic in that? I have seen 1st hand how much time and effort and expenses you put into every show you do and this must be a real kick in the nads mate! I also know that Dave, Malika and Andi will have put alot of effort into looking good. Non are the type to step on stage out of condition. I'm disgusted!

Hi Doug,

I can understand your frustration as its hard enough to promote shows without having complications like this.

I would like to point out Steph was at the council meeting in January as he is on the council, this was not a political decission and as Steph is a councillor and was at the meeting he did have something to do with it as did we all on the council, weather we voted for or against we have to go by the majority vote.

This decission was made on 26th January shorly nearly 4 months is long enough to sort alternative guest stars.

I have heard many good things about any shows that you have anything to do with in Scotland thats fantastic and i wish you all the best with this one. We are trying to get as many nabba reps as posible to come up to scotland and help Steph and Lisa with the show, i dont think it will help in fact i think it could spoil the show if the whole audience is being encouraged to go and have their say to all the reps in attendance.

I quite agree that NABBA council members could get a hard time, rightly so in my opinion for the following reasons;

1. the guest stars were booked last November PRIOR to any ban.
2. flights were booked in January prior to any ban.
3. you and I know the chain of events to follow that meeting so saying Steph could have spoken up is not a fair thing to say as his mind was on other things.
4. I spoke to a NABBA area rep regarding all of this in January and asked if Brian could call me as I don't have a number for Brian, no such phone call ocurred.
5. in most sports the federation tries to look after the sponsors, after 9 years of sponsoring this event NABBA will not come and go at all.
6. last year people were promised Lee Priest and it didn't happen, this year they've pulled the plug on 2 of Britains best bodybuilders. If I had bought a ticket looking to see the guest stars I'd be wanting a refund.
7. Steph and I both have serious health problems so stress like this does neither of us any good, we're also both trying to run businesses so don't have loads of time on our hands and this shopuld have been taken into consideration by NABBA.
8. the paying public are being denied a part of the show which is often the highlight for many specators, surely ensuring the clientelle leave happy is a priority? Not good for customer relations.
9. no rules are in tablets of stone, common sense and the ability to see reason would have seen the implementation of this ban overlooked.

I would ask you, who else do the unhappy spectators complain to? I'm not to blame and neither is Steph so I don't think we should carry the can. A ban is not something that can be implemented retrospectively so asking us not to use guest stars we've already booked is unfair on a financial level, considering we had announced their prescence and considering we've given our word to someone that they'll be doing something only to be forced to go back on our word for something we have nothing to do with.

I feel I have been treated with contempt regarding this and so have the spectators of the show, they don't care about politics they want to see a good show, nothing more and nothing less.

I could go on and on about people competing out of their area and nothing being done about it, I could pull in Paul Byrne's name and mention it was him who invited Dave to compete for Eire, we could then venture into territory relating to how this whole thing came about and the underhand machinations which led to this whole thing ending up being the farce it has become but none of that would reflect well upon NABBA and will thank you for your good wishes for saturday and agree to disagree on how this whole thing has been handled.

I didnt say Steph should have spoken up at the meeting, i mearly pointed out he was at the meeting and was part of the vote, therefore did have something to do with the decission.

I did not know you have tried to contact our chairman so early on and also wasnt aware it had already cost you money. I do agree with some of your points but as you have said we will have to agree to disagree on others. Im all for people having their say but at this time with the things steph and yourself are trying to deal with didnt think stephs show was the place to do it.

I do hope you have a fantastic show that gives both yourself and steph the boost you deserve.

Thinking of coming along to this as a spectator. Can't find any information about tickets or times online....

This will be my first time watching a show so I'm pretty clueless! What would you guys suggest is best - turn up and pay on the door? How much are tickets? At what time? What's the difference between the afternoon and evening show? I'm assuming the best action is the evening. I'll only be able to attend for a few hours (2 to 3) so I'm guessing the evening show will be best?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm a complete beginner in terms of events!

Good luck to all those competing!

Chris, I still have tickets for sale at £17.50 and they will be available on the door. This show will be a sell out so get along early to ensure you get a ticket. The afternoon show starts at 1pm and the evening show at 6pm, the ticket would cover you for afternoon and evening shows.
