Hey guys!
I'm in need of some pro advice! I have been chatting to a few guys at my gym and they have recently recommended that use protein shakes!?
I'm 20 years old, 16.5 stone and workout 4 times a week with 2 cardio sessions. Plus I play rugby during the week too!!
I have never used protein shakes or anything for that matter! But I think that a protein shake could aid my protein intake and benefit my training?
I would like to know if there are any side effects to these products, I only want to use something natural with no substances etc, just pure protein!
I am thinking of using the Holland & Barrett Natural Whey Protein 908g? These are the details.Holland & Barrett Natural Whey Protein
Any ideas on the best product?
Is whey protein better then just protein, and how much should I be taking a day is it 1.5g to 1kg body weight?
Anyone know if from Adonis Nutrition if the Whey Protein Concentrate 80% Protein is any good?
I think I'm heading towards either Whey Portein Isolate (NZ) or Impact Whey Isolate from MyProtein has anyone got any feedback on any of this?

use protein powder when you cant have a whole meal with protein. For me i find it hard to eat food in the morning so i have a protein shake with some oats, and after the gym i find hard to eat so i have a protein shake. Optimum nutrition 100% whey protein is good but expensive, go with a well know brand.
Whey protein isnt better than just protein, you get vitamins, minerals etc with real food.

Cheers ka!
So do you take the whey protein everyday or just the days that you train?
How much do you tend to use a month, do you bulk buy?

They stuff i bought from them was awful - didn't mix properly and tasted like glue.

Go with all-in-1. Consistent quality, great price and they deliver it the next day, even with basic shipping.

I'm quite happy with adonis nutrition's protein. I agree it can be lumpy and difficult to mix, but it's cheap and if you blend your protein in the morning the lumps dissolve by the time you drink it.

Eat protein every day as your muscles are repairing themselfs when you are resting.
You can buy bulk to save you money but make sure you like that brand flavour. I dont tend to buy bulk i sometimes change brands for a change, sometimes i get pro max by maximuscle is expensive aswell.

Hey thanks for all the input guys!! Sooooo much advice it's all hard to take in hehe!
So how many times a day / week do you use it then?
I'm thinkin' maybe 3 times a day for each day I train then just eat well on the days I don't?
