your much more prone to depression right now, as you are in pct, the amino acid balances in the brain are messed up, testosterone (which is linked to mood) is non existant, and pct meds can also have the effect of causing a shift in mood. there is your reason right there, if you cant deal with this side of things then gear probably isnt for you in the future. add to that the other things (that are a part of life unfortunately) and you have why you feel like this. stop the drinking, alcohol is a depressant, and it will also kill your testosterone levels at the best of times, so pct is the worst possible time to be drinking. if you keep drinking you will prolong this depression, so stop it now, and i mean stop, not cut it down, stop. no alcohol whatsoever for at least a month. If your taking clomid switch to nolva.

Yeah i heard about your experiences, pretty interesting. Actually have a question, was vitamin D3 the only variable that really changed(and the sun treatment). Or did you go through other changes which may of also affected your mindset. i know you took early retirement, so do you think that new hobbys also brought you more happiness and could also be a factor? Im thinking of buying some D3 myself, as i dont get much sunlight barely 1-2minutes a day tbh and maybe 10mins on a good day. This is also after almost 0 exposure after being on isotretinoin(Vitamin A treatment for acne). Sun is free, but sadly its hard to capture right now when i first read Nige's article, i ran it along my partner (in the medical profession) and she was more than a little critical. being insistent, I had a blood test and lo my serum 25(OH)D was well below the healfhful level Vit D 5000iu daily, it was well into the third week before I noticed anything, the difference was slight but honest, and one which i'm thoroughly grateful for. obviously I'm not recommending anything on my say so. it's not like 5000iu daily is going to do any damage

ORIGINAL: richsINS Yeah i heard about your experiences, pretty interesting. Actually have a question, was vitamin D3 the only variable that really changed (and the sun treatment). Yes. I was already taking fish oil & magnesium supps. Or did you go through other changes which may of also affected your mindset. No. i know you took early retirement, so do you think that new hobbys also brought you more happiness and could also be a factor? I didn't start any new hobbies. My hobby was posting on messageboards. When even that was too much for me, I posted less and less. I went off sick in Feb 2006 and took early retirement in Sep 2006. I didn't feel any better until Mar 2007, a few weeks after I started taking 2,000iu/day of D3 and using the UVB sunlamp. After I stopped using the sunlamp, I slowly deteriorated. In Dec 2007 when I upped my D3 intake to 5,000iu/day, I felt better again. As each increase in D3 intake took a few weeks to take effect, I don't think that there was a placebo effect going on. I'm still feeling good on 5,000iu/day. Im thinking of buying some D3 myself, as i dont get much sunlight barely 1-2minutes a day tbh and maybe 10mins on a good day. This is also after almost 0 exposure after being on isotretinoin (Vitamin A treatment for acne). A high Vit A intake can cause a relative deficiency in Vit D as A & D should be balanced. Sun is free, but sadly its hard to capture right now It's pouring with rain as I type this, and I'm going out later.

everyone is still missing the main point that hes just finished a course of steroids. that and life factors is the reason. It will pass as recovery happens. cutting out the drinking would be of way more help than any vitamin suppliment, and its free, with no potential side effects whatsoever. the same cant be said of high dose vitamin supplimentation

It's 50% of what you get from sensible sunbathing (which is free if only the damned sun would come out! Otherwise, it's <5p a day). Sudden alcohol withdrawal can have potential side effects....Delirium Tremens, or DT's.

Use the fact you've split up from your gf to channel your motivation into training harder and wanting it more and more. When one of my ex's dumped me it really hit me hard. I felt like sh*t and didn't want to do anything. My productivity at work dropped etc and at the gym I couldn't be bothered to lift when it got hard. Then a couple of weeks later I decided that I was gonna absolutely go for it in training, and stay strict with my diet etc. My motivation was to show my ex that she had made a mistake by dumping me by getting myself looking better than ever, and much better than the new lad she was with. My gains rocketed over the next 3 months and the way it made me feel was great. Just remember how good it feels when people comment on your physique. The better your physique gets, the more comments you'll get and the better you'll feel.
