I enjoyed that. But I was half-expecting to see a spectacled fella in a wheelchair barking instructions. Fat Pete sounds distinctly like Brian Potter (Phoenix Nights) Elfin - is there often that much vocal support during normal sessions? Occasionally I'll offer an encouraging half-shout to my training partner but I get strange looks from the other members simply doing that.

It can get rather vocal at times! I can't say we advocate balling for every rep of every set but when the needs arise then nowt wrong with it. Gives the place a good buzz. We have a sledge that gets pulled up and down the length of the gym and then pretty much everyone joins in with encouragement because you can see HOW hard someone is trying and you sooooooooo want them to make it to the other end and urge then on. Great craic!

Watch everyone, whether it's powerlifters, weightlifters, bodybuilders or strongmen, there are too few of us to say this is right or that is wrong. Take ideas from anywhere, try them, adopt them or disguard them. But remember them, there may come a time when a long forgotten idea sparks just the change you need.

What's the dogs name? She's cool. (It was a great watch BTW) My squats aren't perfect, but after watching that I think they're better than I thought they were (formwise).

Phat Pete is a legend, but ruthless... check these quotes "that was a set of 5 reps not 5 singles, y'not bodybuildin' now, none of this (insert telephone voice here) continuous tension sh!t!" "last one was best of all, perfect last one, other 4 was cr@p" "check at the top, breath, down and DIGGG!!!! and bang it UP!!!!!!! up-up-up-up-up YESSSS!!!!!" I think the last quote there was some freudian slip sh!t going on, was he talking about powerlifting or his birthday antics with the fair ladies LOL
