Hi All, If you were offered a service where you could pay for your supplements by direct debit, monthly and each month and your preferred choice of supplements were delivered to your door would you use it? (Obviously at a reasonable price) I don’t know about you guys but i always forget to order a new tub of something, or forget to pick it up in town! I was thinking something similar to the mobile tarriffs on T moble the Flex-t ones (except rather than use them on minutes and txt's you use them on your choice of suppliments) , you pay a certain amount each month, get say 500 points and you can spend them points on what ever suppliments you use each month? as we dont have the same goals all year round so you could login to your account online and change what your points are spent on each month. see the image: http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?image=examplewebsitebp1.jpg you could change the amount on the graph as required

I chose no because i don't always use the same amount every month. Seeing as i get my whey next day delivery, i just order it when i'm about to run out.

no i wouldn't. i order on a quarterly or even less frequent basis. plus with the possibilities of injury, it doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Would only choose to do so if there was a decent discount and could opt for months when didn't get any (and didn't pay obviously) for when on holiday etc. Clubber - the dorian yates site delivers whatever your monthly supps are at 5% discount as opposed to the £30, its a standing order that every month delivers whatever you have chosen with the discount obviously as well

Yes, but i can't see why anyone would do that rather than just order what they want when they want it. I mean, you're never going to use exactly £30 a month of supplements, so you'll either end up running out of something or spending money on something you don't really need just to fulfil your quota.

Think this a good idea! I use several different supplements that I wouldn't neccessary buy every month but yeah if you could pay certain ammount via standing order so you are so much in credit I would use it. That way when you come to order you will have some money towards it etc. You have to pay for them one way or another and if places offered a 5% discount for this service I would be sold. It's like the standing order I pay for home heating oil, I pay £30 a month and when it comes to ordering oil I coudl be £90 to £120 in credit so only have to pay the differnence. Makes managing my finances a lot easier

Wouldn't work for me TBH.. When I buy supps (maybe 2 /3 per year) I buy in bulk... Normally over 25kg's worth

i would buy in bulk if i could afford it, thats another reason i came up with the idea, you would be getting bulk prices but not having to buy in bulk because the company would have the security that your paying by direct debit

You can get "bulk prices" by buying 2 5lb tubs at 16 quid a pop anyway.

That's why most companies now hold very little stock - my protein included. I would bet there are extra-ordinarily few companies who hold more than a month's worth of sales in stock at any one time. Well i never knew that, intresting, I thought they brought as much as they could afford not just a "months" worth .

Well i never knew that, intresting, I thought they brought as much as they could afford not just a "months" worth . It'll vary for each company. You have a certain churn rate with different units of stock. Some items of stock you buy so much of, you can afford to still get good pricing whilst buying in much smaller, regular lots. Other items, you know are a pain in the ass to re-stock on (I can think of a few things that fall into this catagory), so even if you only sell a couple a day....you have to buy loads cos occasionally it'll be impossible to get it for 3 weeks. You've got to remember, whilst 30-90 days credit (depending on type, company etc.) is pretty standard...it gets more expensive to hold things the longer you hold them. In addition to having someone's cash (in the form of stock or a loan), you're also storing it - so you need extra warehouse space, that's preferably of high quality, since you're storing a food product. There's alot of angles to it.

I wouldnt bother, Postage and packing prices would be higher. When I order I like to spend like £100+ get everything I need for a good 3-6 months. No postage costs then either. I might order again if I run out of something within that time but prefer "bulk" discounts
