scholes played well imo, spread the play well and constantly put pressure on the catalans when in possesion.
how you can say evra is one of the worst defensive left backs is ignorant tbh he is very good at defending.

scholes is and was and always will be a better player than lampard.

Missing the points entirely, not for the first time.
Scholes put in a below par performance minus the goal. If the goal made the performance than Frank Lampard is one of the best midfielders in the world.
Evra is one of the best left backs in the league, but one of the worst at defending.

well i suppose scoring from outside the area in a semi final against barca doesnt make the performance no.
lampard isnt worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Mr Paul Scholes

Lampard has scored more goals than Scholes in almost every season for the last 8 years.
As Scholes did little else last night apart from a few passes and a goal, I am assuming that you are of the opinion that goals equals performance.
Scholes may be a better player than Lampard, but his performance last night minus the goal was bland.

55 seconds of defending from 5+ minutes of Evra footage proves he is a good defender?
Of those 55 seconds the majority was spent performing unnecessary acrobatics because he was caught out of position.

See above posts for all the information you require.
To sum up:
If Scholes did not score last night his performance would have been classed as poor compared to the level of performance he is capable of.
His performance goes from poor to good because of his goal.
Based on the above, anyone who rates Scholes' performance last night as good would also have to concede that Frank Lampard is a world class player because he plays like Scholes did last night on a more regular basis.

Im not gonna go into the Lampard Scholes debate because ive had this in the pass with integra,but for me Evra is the best left back in the world and i also think hes world class at defending,i watch him week in week out and hes excellent at being offensive and defensive.
Thats everything you would want from a left back.
I thought scholes had a decent game and his goal was worthy of winning any match.

I personally think Abidal & Clichy are superior to Evra.
Evidently the French coach does too with regards to Abidal.
