its surprising that they don't have much time for you being new and that, i guess the only other way would be to take a friend with you then you can both drill the stuff that they have been teaching you

Why don't you say to the instructor dude? Asked to be paired with someone who can take you through the basics for a class or two. I brought a mate of mine to Jiu Jitsu last night and it was his first night and the instructor told me to take him through the basics just to get him 'broken in' you know. Just taught him breakfalls and the different positions on the ground n stuff, most instructors don't have a problem so it's worth your time to ask I think.

True, I can see what you are both saying... However, I just think if the instructor was interested in me as a person, rather than just the money I would make him, he would sort something out, I dont know how he expects beginners to learn without proper guidance. Been looking at some other Martial arts, want to try Hapkido, but doesnt appear to be any near me (typical)... sure I will find something...

yes, I have looked at both actually as there are both clubs in my area, but I dont know much about them, they seem to be mainly grappling? The reason I wanted something lke Hapkido is because it seems to combine, fighting with grappling.... I am not ruling anything out though

jujitsu what i know of it is grappling and a bit of striking aswell bjj is more just grappling hapkido being a korean art is a good choice and yes it has grappling and striking another korean one you may like which they may have in your are which is similar to hapkido would be kuk sool won, aikido on the other hand is cmpletely defense only its all about using the oponents energy against them which looks quie fun tbh, but do you have any kung fu styles where you are if not? because if you got into some kung fu sanshou competetitions it may sharpen your sparring up, hope this helps
