I've had boiled eggs before, bust yesterday i felt sick as hell after eating just 2, they tasted horrible, so my question is, are scrambled eggs just as good/as high in protien?

also is it ok to have fried egg every so often?

I Fry all my Egg whites, It the healthest oil poss, and use just enough, Boiled Eggs Too much hasel for me. I think Scrambled is ok, But you have to use Butter for that which isnt that healthly.

Crisp and Dry is a good spray/oil to cook eggs with as its high in good fats.

I don't see any harm in it - From my own experience I think the key to following any plan and it being a sucess is to keep it as varied as possible, not having the same meals everyday - boiled egg/ scrambled eggs (add spices) on their own or with chicken/salmon if you want the extra protein, egg salad, fried eggs, fried eggs on a steak for breakie (yummy - ownly on a bulk mind you!) etc etc

Egg yolks are good for you - most of the vitamins and minerals in eggs come from the yolk itself.

People just eat the egg whites as they are a good source of protein and contain little fat.

I think thats right anyway, correct me if I'm wrong anyone?

The bad: This food is high in Saturated Fat, and very high in Cholesterol.

The cholesterol is a non-issue, the fat should be factored into your diet though.

Just for my info, how bad is having a little over the RDA for colestral limit? I have 4 eggs a day, whole eggs that is. I'm not worried too much about the fat, only other fat I get is from lean meat and fish(apart from the occasional kebab, but shhhh).

There was a thread similar to this last week; -

Basically from everything I have learnt I believe that saturated fats actually make more of an impact on your blood cholesterol levels than cholesterol in eggs, which do not have a significant impact.

If you have high levels of blood cholesterol you should limit eggs (whole) to 3 or 4 maximum a week, if not I wouldn't worry at all.

I think thats right?

Nutritiondata is a great site but it's American and Americans are still paranoid about dietary cholesterol & sat fats. Read the egg article which has a link to a study done in 1979 showing that healthy people can eat 14 large whole eggs a week without it having any significant effect on serum cholesterol or triglyceride levels.

Erm, why do you need butter for scrambled eggs? I never put butter or anything in my scrambled eggs!

I have 4 scrambled eggs every morning, goes down lovely!

Have humans mutated significantly in the last 30 years? I think not. Have humans learned much in the last 30 years? Since we're still being told to eat no more than 3 eggs a week, I think not.

Nigee - is the "eggs are ok" conclusion based on that study or many supporting studies? Any idea why the goverment say 3~week and what they base that recommendation on?

I've no idea.
