After 4 months of flat benching i have decided to change it up a bit and do some incline presses instead. i just wondered if there was an optimum angle for these. My bench has 4 different positions and i am using it on the 2nd one which is around the 45 degree angle, i dont want to put too much emphasis on my shoulders as i want to target chest more. Andy

Go for a lower incline, 45 degrees feels far too much like shoulders for me. I generally use the first notch when incline benching so it's still predominantly chest stimulation.

You wont notice a differance. Just choose what is most confortable and what you feel is giving you the best stimulas.

Andy flat then incline, imo you should be doing declin, flat, incline, flys, flat, decline, and incline. mix it about i dont ever do same on my chest every week

Beefy - medial delts won't really be involved unless you're approaching an upright position. Think of going from a decline position to upright as if you were shoulder pressing. Delt recruitment would start off with minimal front delts, more front delts as you reach flat, with the shift between delts and chest shifting as you reach an upright position until at the top more medial delts, less front delts, no chest.
