One thing I'll say; chins, dips, wide grip pullups, these are all fantastic exercises and I would concentrate on getting your strength up in these areas, being able to lift your own weight unassissted should be a goal for you.

Funny you should say that. I read somewhere recently (I do lots of reading!) that until I can do three sets of 24 pressups - I shouldn't even bother with Bench Presses. I was actually thinking of dropping the Bench Presses and doing more self weight excercises like you mentioned (chins/dips etc). I'm wary of swapping my workout around too much though - and I don't think I do enough lower body stuff (only leg presses and squats) so I'm trying to decide what to do and then stick with it for a couple of months. In your experience Fire - should I do more than just Leg Presses and Squats in a FB workout - and should I think of doing more self weight excercises as the expense of some of the other excercises I do?

Why is it from waking up till I finish work at 5.30 my diet is spot on - good clean protein enriched food. But from 5.30 till bed I seem to snack and eat rubbish. Time to get on the nutrition forums I think before all my good work goes to pot :(

It seems when the sun comes out - so do the gym goers. Gym opened at 8am today - I was there at 8.15 and it was packed! Anyway - quite pleased with my workout today: Assisted Chins - 35Kg - 3x8 (Not too bad) BOR - 18Kg - 3x8 (Easier than expected) Squats - 18Kg - 3x8 (Last set hard work but not too bad) Press Ups - 3x18 (I still hate these!) Single Leg Leg Presses - 45Kg - 3x12 (Lowered weight from last time but got much better ROM and better form, and felt like I worked harder than when I upped the weight last time. Wise move I think that I lowered the weight) Assisted Dips - 35Kg - (Not too bad) So overall I upped my weights on BOR and Squats to 18Kg (heaviest weight I've lifted) and lowered my Leg Press weight but got better ROM and form. Quite happy overall. I'll up the reps on Squats and BOR with the 18Kg weight at my next session. I'll also lower the weight on Assisted Dips and Chins, and aim to keep doing that every week until I can get reps out unassisted. I intend on going to the gym tomorrow but doing 45mins cardio to try speed up my fat loss (and make up for the lack of discipline in my diet over the last few days).

To be honest I'm not really well up on full body workouts. I would try to mix it up, like do squats and leg presses for monday's workout, then on wednesday try something different like quad and ham leg curls, and maybe deads.

Jeez is it hot today! My first cardio session for quite a while - I did HIIT for 40mins on the x-trainer. It brought back memories of when I used to play semi pro footie and the type of feeling you got in pre season training! Looks like I'll be getting my money worth from my gym subs. I'll be doing 4 weights and 2 cardio sessions a week now - I'll give my self a day off as well :) Still need to work at my diet between 6 and bed - still grazing on rubbish - but I'll get there.

Hiya mate - sorry been out of internet-action most of last week so just catching up now. Sounds like you had a good weekend!! Jealous!! Re the end of the month, don't think I'll be able to make it but will message you later in the week. Have you tried the flapjack recipe from the recipes section on here? Do a search for Bigfella and you should find it, I like those ones and they're easy to make. In terms of snacking at night, are you around others who are eating nice stuff? That tends to make it harder for me. Try and have snacks to hand that aren't so bad. If I'm on the straight and narrow (not much recently) I'll mix up some peanut butter with quark (soft white cheese) and it makes a pretty decent dessert. Little things like that help. I've enjoyed a full body workout and am of the opinion that you should stick to it for a while before making changes - however.......if you're doing 2 FBWs per week, there's nothing to stop you having them slightly different to each other. You'll be working all of the body parts consistently, but also getting the variation you want?

If you asked me two months ago if i would get annoyed and stressed cos I missed a gym session - I'd say you were mad. But there I was this morning - stuck in a huge traffic jam - knowing I wasn't going to make the gym before work - getting more and more annoyed that I was missing a session and that it would through my plan out for the week... Who'd a thought it!

Lisa - no worries about Fabric. I've just checked my bank account and I doubt I'll be able to afford the train down - never mind into the club and the train back and all the extras :) You ever heard of a night called Twisted Disco? I think it is at Pacha - can you do some asking about and see if anyone has been? Anyway - back to my work out. Got to the gym really early today to make sure I got a workout in: BOR - 18Kg - 3x10 (Struggled on last couple but finished sets) Dumbbell Squats - 18Kg - 3x12 (Not burning like they did when I first started to do them - up reps to 12 next time then consider higher weight) Assisted Dips - 32Kg - 3x8 (Not too bad - upping (or lowering) weights next time Single Leg Leg Press - 45Kg - 3x8 (Changed my form slightly and this is now very hard work - guess it should have been like this all the time - so pleased I've sorted that out) Press Ups - 3x18 (Last set was hard work) Assisted Chins - 32Kg - 3x8 (Failed on last set) Single Arm Dumbbell Bench Press - 14Kg - 3x12 (Last set hard but finished with good form) So - all in all - I've upped my reps for Dips, BOR, Squats, Dips and Chins. Not bad. Next time I'll knock down the weights for Dips and up reps for BOR.
