drinking will stop muscle growth.... but muscles will still grow if you drink booze, but you gotta feel good about your self, enjoy life and stuff what other people think

It is all relative. I don't think your social life should be compromised because it is bad for muscle growth. A tad OTT that appraoch if it isn't your occupation in my opinion.

He's correct.

Alcohol will hinder gains, but you can still grow while drinking a lot.

I think you're limiting your potential if you regularily binge-drink.

The problem I find with alcohol, is if I over indulge - it affects my training the next day as I simply cannot train if I have any sort of hangover. I also tend to make poor food choices.

A real bender can mess you up even 48 hours after you got drunk. It lowers testosterone levels and does various other things. James knows a fair bit on this subject because I read his article on it in "Mens Fitness"

I recon you should make a choice between your body or alcohol.
This is not including a glass of Pinot Noir from time to time for its anti oxidants.

it's all part of the same picture.

Booze is negative in so many way physiologically but a LITTLE is fine for most people, it's all about balance which is of course a huge part of a healthy lifestyle.

It's easier to put muscle into a healthy frame.

I kind of argee with both points liek FatboyGinger's point and yours beefycol.

I think it sounds better put " If you want to Advance better cut the drink out or just a LITTLE like 1/2 pints on a sat. But Dont feel you have to if you still want to go out once a week and get smashed thats cool. "

As above too balcnence

Me too, I eat crap the next day. I still train though. I've vomitted at the gym after a binge the night before.

I must admit I seldom drink these days especially when running an oral cycle. I do find it hard to drink water and enjoy myself while out round the bars and clubs., so a good comprimise is to mix the two.
