I owe it all to my loyal supporter Roots.

I'm sure his message in this thread following the posting of one of my Excel graphs planted the seed in James' head to appoint me Mod.

Thanks also to the other generous comments. Even yours cu3ed

1) There are no more in the pipeline, though a new pipeline can commence at any time and be active in a few days
2) If there were anymore in the pipeline, members wouldn't know about them anyway!

How very elitist

Good effort LMC, I didn't vote for you in the shape up and I wouldn't have voted you a mod but well done all the same

Kidding mate, good member and I'm looking forward to your first locking with added explanation

Nice one mate.

What necessitates the appointment of a new moderator. Is it done on the basis of the amount of members?

For example, for every 5000 new members a new mod is recruited?

Fair question. It doesn't really work like that though. For instance we fall short of a mod or two in both Female and AAS IMO, yet no candidates really jump out (NB members - I do NOT want mod nominations and these will be deleted) as yet for one reason or another.

It's when members really stand out for either their knowldge (eg someone like MCL or drewsky) or posting manor, loyalty to MT, being active, etc (which LM is a good example).

In LM case I was watching him for a few weeks, after feeling positive vibes, then I raised him with the rest of the team, we all watched him. Then I emailed him to sound him out, and a week later I offered him the job! He'll be regretting it in a week or two!!

nice one LMC another good addition to the team imo.

just dont be getting all power hungry like a few of the mods i'm not paying anymore protection money to anyone

James i'd agree with the AAS comment, with bbigman not posting as much these days there does seem a need, but as its quite a complex area it seems it would be hard to fill.
