Bought a couple of cans of Pilchards in tomato sauce. Does anyone eat these ? If so - how do you cook them / have them ? Heated up in a saucepan, then serve on toast ?

Yep, these are a good source of protein, cheap and have omega fats.

I normally just nuke them in the microwave for a couple of minutes, serve with brown rice and broccoli, but have had them on toast before as well.

Thanks. What do they taste like ? (May sound a daft question, but I thought I'd try these, as you quite rightly say; they're a cheap source of protein, packed full of omega 3)

They taste a bit 'fishy' to me - also a bit 'tomatoey'

I like them on toast, maybe with agrating of Parmesan cheese on top - there again, I'm a bit posh

I believe they are basically just larger Sardines.
