Hello, I was in the gym yesterday and i was told that to get different types of ABS you can do different workouts. I can't remember what the two examples were but one was where you would use higher weights where possible etc and the other higher reps/more sets but without weight or something like that. sorry for sounding like a complete n00b but from the minimal info i've given i was wondering if this was true. Cheers

I assume you mean abdominal muscles when you say ABS and its not an abbreviation for something. A lot of people say some rep ranges are for size and others are for "definition/tone". Its garbage. Dont listen to anything anyone says in a gym. Read a book or ask questions on here. Rep range variation is for achieving different goals ie. strength/muscle mass.

if you do compounds then 3 sets of leg raises and crunches a week IMO should more than suffice

Yes, that is one way of doing it. Bulk up and then cut afterwards. Regarding body fat, the more steady and sensible the bulk, the less fat you should have to loose.

Cheers, again sory for sounding like a right n00b but what do you mean by lean bulk? At the moment i'm currently eating healtily, decent protein intake, one protein shake per day, doing 2 days cario, 4 days weights (inc. 2 days abs) so yeah what would i change/do to lean bulk? and hopefully this will help quite a few people out too as i know alot of people want a "front page mens health body" (quite alot in the beginners section anyhow)
