Struggle??!!

He doesn't just play in la liga and is generally excellent in all competitions.

Messi would be fantastic in the premiership, has a low centre of gravity and is actually very physically strong for his size.

Can't think of many Argentinian players who can't handle themselves.

Messi could be a good player in the Premiership, but it would still represent a risk at the prices being thrown around.

The price would probly have to break the current world record, but who ever gets him would benefit hugely imo.

He started his first la liga game yesterday for the first time in a few months and look at the impact he had and the result,i think it shows what a mssive influence he can be.

But you cant blame him for not being able to break down man utd when they have the best centre back, and best left back in the world.

Makavelli,

When Juan Veron joined Manchester United he was supposedly the last piece of the puzzle who would give them what they were missing in the bigger games.

quote:

"What we have done is bring in a really top player, one of the best players in the world. He is world class - a fantastic footballer. He's a marvellous player and Juan will bring a personality to the team which I feel we need at this moment. I feel we need a challenge. We have a fantastic bunch of players who have done magnificently over the years, but nothing beats a challenge.

It's a terrific prospect and I am looking forward to it because with my experience of this team is that when we have signed a player of this calibre, he has done wonders for us."
- Sir Alex Ferguson, July 2001 after signing Veron for a British record transfer fee.

The same could happen to Messi. It may not, he could end up becoming the best player to play in the UK since Georgi Kinkladze. At the same time there is a chance he could find himself out of his depth.

For the kind of transfer fees being thrown around in the papers - 80m uk pounds - it is a huge risk.

I see where your coming from Integra, but i think the likes of Veron have gave managers these doubts today.

What i will admit to you today is, i was happy when united signed Veron, but i knew he wasnt the worlds best or anything. But for me Messi is much much more talented and naturally gifted than any Argentine player over the last 10 yrs.

I have been watching Messi now for a few years on a consistent basis and i just think hes a legend in the making,i even think if he can stay injury free next season then he will be named world player of the year.

But i do understand where your coming from mate, but i think Messi is too good to find him self out of his depth in any league, but thats my oppinion.

If you replace "Messi" with "Veron" and "Veron" for "Neil Webb" it would be like stepping into 2001 all over again.
