Hey Guys, Just thought I'd hey as I've just joined the forum. Was wondering if any of you knew of any good gyms in Sheffield as I've just moved from North Wales to Sheffield and haven't got a clue. I'm looking for a gym thats more heavy duty rather than catering to the masses. Tried one earlier today called 'Max Fitness' was ok but not for me. Any ideas? cheers very much

Cool cheers Apollo-ideally I'm hoping to find somewhere I can pay as I go Big D-Yeah thats the one up in walkley. Went there today. I live in nether edge but am happy to travel anywhere for the right gym. I'm looking for somewhere with a decent squat rack or a power rack or even both. Do a lot of deads so somewhere to do that 2 along with d/bells that go above 60kg. Its a lot to ask but my old gym in North Wales had this stuff so I figure somewhere the size of Sheffield must have this kind of stuff. But cuz I don't know the area its difficult to know!

i'll ask my mates back home where they suggest. i dont live there anymore so not too sure. max fitness is ok, but gets crowded and the equipment is not the best. bump this thread in a couple of days and i'll see what my mates have said.

Don Valley stadium may be worth a look. S10 (University Of Sheffield) may be worth a look but I would describe that as OK rather than anything special. During my time in Sheff I never felt it was that well serviced for decent gyms. I would use the search function for this mate as I think this has actually come up a few times before.
