Iv'e been doing bent over rows like this lately as i prefer it. Just put all the weight on one end of the bar and then put the other end against a wall.

Does anyone know if this exercise would have the same benefits as doing a standard barbell bent over row?

Pretty much. I think BOR are better for overall development of strength and power, but T-bar rows and there equaivalent are good lifts to train the upper back.
