Welshy_Pete -> Training routine and reps need advice (May 4 2008 16:41:19)

Hello my Training routine need abit of advice so Im on the correct track. Started training febuaray 6th 2008. At the moment I got my own gym equipment and need advice on reps how many should I aim for at the most with multi gym pull down bar? chest arm? legs?

To start of with warm ups I use V shaped leg thing 200 reps then spring on arms 100 reps then wrist exercise 50 at reps.

At the moment doing 9 weights on pull down bar at 49.5kg with 150 reps. Then 7 weights on the chest arms at 38.5kg with 150 reps. Then my legs at 24kg at 100 reps.

I was doing more reps but cut back now but wanted to know if Im needing to cut back anywere more still. I train Monday, wednesday and Fridays I also take PhD synergy.

Before started training I was weakish after car accident also thin hardly no muscles just normal. Im 5ft 10 and weight was 13.8 stone in febuaray 2008 and 26th March 14.11 when I've eaten and when not eaten 14.8 stone. Now May 4th Im 14.12 stone nearly 15 stone since started training and going up in weights in the gym.

Im going up 1 weight on average 5.5kg every week is that good to be getting this results?

I eat the correct times also good food as well no rubbish.

Any help or adivce would be great thanks

Are you kidding??!!.....200 reps?!

And why the red writing?

Welshy_Pete -> RE: Training routine and reps need advice (May 6 2008 0:06:48)

Im just training 3 times a week ant got plans to size or muscle gains just seeing what progress Im making just added anther 5.5kg to all weights today so the training going well pull down bar now 55kg then chest arms 44kg then legs 29kg.

I've been cutting the reps down as Im going up lifting more weights most I do on 3 exercising mensioned now 125 reps on each one. V shaped leg thing now at 100 then spring bar at 100 then wrist exercise at 50 So I've cut back again on reps more now from today.

My weight lifting gains are going well every week lifting extra 5.5kg so Im just seeing how I progress not thinking of what I want to be. Mainly doing this cause broken bones I had in accident it helps alot also stress and tension I use it to help release that out and aggression which is a good thing I have alot of it. I know alot people say you need goals as in weight or size and other things but I just ant decided on that Im doing in that way. Its for other reasons the reasons explanned.

Why so many reps??

Welshy_Pete -> RE: Training routine and reps need advice (May 6 2008 0:37:45)

I just do what Im comfy with really I dont over do things were it hurts or over strains my self I just do wat I can cope with thats it really.

But as Im going up weights Im cutting down the reps of course it wont allways stay big reps. I eat correctly and train well and have good routine going were Im finding Im making good gains each week now which Im happy with. But have cut down reps hell of alot now and bit more again today.

My main problem at the moment supplements cant have any with having problems now. Im going to try Myprotein unflavoured Impact Whey Protein 10bl cause it has no crap in it which might have better chance of it working for me other wise if that dont work it be just exercising and foods which I dont mind. Just orderd the new stuff today Impact Whey Protein.

Are you bulking or cutting? Because either way i would say you need to be doing ALOT less reps, more in the region of 10 than 100. And how many sets are you doing of each exercise?
Post up your full routine for a better response.
