Rackpulls are more hams/glutes - Deadlifts are pretty much an entire posterior chain movement.

Rackpulls are more hams/glutes - Deadlifts are pretty much an entire posterior chain movement.

Translation - Pulling a loaded bar from a rack primarily involves the arse cheeks and the back of the legs only. A full deadlift from the floor involves the whole leg and the hips and lower back too

Will that do for a English explanation?

Surely it would hit the shoulders and upper back pretty good too?

The contraction of the trapezius is very much isometric with Deadlifts, regardless of where you start from.

(Yeah, decipher that Neb you c0ck)

if you move the bar off the floor that much mate,it becomes a bent over row

No Gina - if you pull the bar towards your chest/abdomen it becomes a row.

However, if the rack is too high, it becomes "unracking the bar"

monk - i've taken it that a bent over row is when you keep your back flat, i.e. close to parallel to the ground

look at this vid:
bent over row
