Hi I am new to the forum but not new to weight training (20 years) and the old bod is holding up pretty well. However now I have reached 55 I have noticed a few changes that I would like to nip in the bud PDQ. Firstly under the arms from armpit to elbow (gap between tri and bi is going a tad soft). Tris still hard. How do I hit that bit? Abs still tight but skin getting slightly rippled (not standing for that!) Pocket of fat forming between hamstring and buttock (Ewww!) Where delt joins pec when arm lying against body I am losing firmness (lateral raises?) I would appreciate any exercises that you can suggest. My regular gym closed for refurb so I have been free weighting at home but will restart gym soon. Height 5' 4 weight 56-57 kgs. Thanks!

thanks ironeater. Could you suggest any supplementation? I do the antioxidants, Udo oil, vitamins but I don't do aminos. Would anything like that help? I realise that time will change things but I am grateful to and for my body and always like to assist it wherever possible. It still looks pretty good even though I say so myself and I hope to keep it that way. You are obviously very knowledgable (reading your posts) so if you have time a workout plan would be appreciated. I first got into weight training after seeing a photo of Albert Beckles in 1986 and I think he was knocking on a bit even then. I remember thinking if he could look that good at that age well....dammit so could I!! Back in the dark ages I was the only woman in the weights room. Best thing I ever did so keep at it people!

hard to suggest anything that will help as youre going to know your own body far better than i, especially as youve been training twice as long as i have Ace perhaps something lie a deep skin moisturiser, the misses uses shea butter and that seems to work for her. i can suggest things to perhaps help but i need to see yoru current routine if thats ok. Im sure also some of the competing ladies on the board could help as well as this isnt really my area of expertise

thanks for that ironeater. It's not so much the skin more muscle tone and to be honest you kind of answered my question when you asked about my routine. As my gym has closed for a refurb and it's dragged on for 9 mths (supposed to only be 3 and that's why I didn't join anywhere else) basically I have been working out at home with free weights and I know in my heart that's probably the reason. I need some serious iron! But thanks for your time. I am going to get my 55 yr old butt back in the gym! I am actually in excellent shape and that's why I notice small changes. I need a Smith machine, a thigh extension, a bench press, one of those lovely cable pulls.....how did i ever think a set of dumbells, a dining room chair and a thighmaster were ever going to cut it!!

Hi Ace! Do some research on Tribulus. I know it has been used to help regulate hormonal changes post menopausal women (sorry if I'm putting my foot in it here lol). Some research suggest that the lack of oestrogels(sp) leads to muscle loss in this group of women. I'm no expert and as I said do a bit of mooching about and find out what you can then see if it's something you would like to try. There is alot of sh*te ont'internet that you will have to sift through (nowt new there though).

Thanks guys for the advice. Actually Elfin I was toying with the idea of tribulus because my son has a stack of supplements that he loses interest in after 2 weeks and he has something called Ripfast Testo stack which contains tribulus. There doesn't seem to be much in it that will cause weird things to happen to me so I was thinking about giving it a whirl when I start training hard again. The tabs are so big I am not certain which orifice they are meant for. I shall presume it's oral! If anyone could tell me about this particular one I would appreciate it. Do not want to end up roaring like a bull and trying to eat my dumbells...and thighmaster...and dining room chair....
