ORIGINAL: Shyne Well I just get 10kg of unflavoured Micellar Casein tubbed for about £93 delivered. So can't justify the expense of buying a branded protein like pro-peptide. After all, I can just mix my whey with the casein to get the best of both worlds. casein mixed with whey cant compare to whats in ProPeptide, doesnt come close tbf bud. In what way? I agree the taste is obviously gonna be better in the pp, but the overall amino acid profiles I would imagine aren't too far apart. I can't see what extra benefit some hydrolyed whey and some egg white are gonna give in the grand scheme of things. have a quick read of Thai's post above, breaks all the ingredients down and explains the reasons behind them.

I've read it mate. The only thing I can see that would give extra benefit is the hydrolysed whey - and that's if it's taken post workout, which imo pro-pep isn't ideal for.

Glutamine, enzymes...in addition to the fact that there really isn't that big a price difference imo. say you bought 10k of the bulk stuff, and it's unflavoured etc etc...and it cost you 93 quid. Well, 3 bags of Pro-Pep will last you around the same time (assuming you don't drink it faster, because it is just tastier). The price difference, delivered, will be around 26 quid. [Note: If you wanted to get a better deal...I'm sure if you email whoever (not just me, but loads of guys) and asked to buy 5, 6, 8 bags...they'd knock another chunk off] 26 quid over 3 months = 8.67 a month I don't think that's alot. My weekend pizza was more than that. It's up to you, these debates are a little silly because it's like comparing a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 to a Vuaxhall Astra VXR - if you want basic unflavoured casein, get that, if you want no-expense spared uber-tasty, uber profile protein that's been designed not to be cheap, but to be one of the best out there...Pro-Pep is pretty good.

Hi, Our new Instant Milk Protein is a fantastic product, but different to PP as just a single protein not a blend. However our Total Protein formula is a blend of proteins and more comparable: http://www.myprotein.co.uk/formulas/our-formulas/total-protein/ Having said all that we are sure our Instant Milk Protein would be more than suitable for over 95% of users in the grand scheme of things as a bedtime protein source.
