Good luck with it mate, hope the 5 x 5 works for you as good as it is me.

Thanks mate. Sort my diet out and things will be a-ok. That is my next battle. I seem to either binge drink or binge eat!!

If I sort my diet out then my odd drinks won't be so much of an issue. No fat shall pass these lips for (apart from the odd omega sardine)

Diet and training regime to start. . Tuesday 20th May. I am writing most of this month off. FA Cup Final to come on the 17th. Last blow out before the creatine and diet gets on track.

Going on holiday in September so need to get sorted for then.

No worries on the alcohol front as I am not drinking tonight and have no inclination too (even if it is such a lovely evening).

Going to (when training starts) drink once a month and will make sure I stick to the once.

Cheers lads. I look forward to the 17th then the 20th May with baited breath

As I have said I am not taking this training or diet seriously until after next weekend. Let's see if there is any thing you guys can do to fix my diet. I just don't know where I am going wrong.

Three pieces of toast, two sausages and two bacon for brekkie

Tuna and Salmon pasta and also a chicken curry from the works canteen for dinner

Two mini Mars Bars and Two Mini Twix for snack

Pack of Doritos for snack

Toad in the Hole for tea

Two bottles of lager for snack.

I just can't see where I am going wrong

As I have said I am putting this week and next weekend down to experience then am straight back on it on the Tuesday.

Nothing at the moment mate. Got all my attention on the FA Cup Final a week today. There is no point me starting anything serious until that is out of the way mate.

Whether you want to or not eh ?

And how many units will be consumed on this one night. Monitor it carefully and report back. Don't want it creeping up as the months go by

It is not a must to drink once a month but will be a possibility and that must be it!!

I don't want it creeping up either mate. Can't afford to let it both money wise and health wise.

Once this FA Cup final is out of the way the beast will be unleashed!!

I know you wont take my word as gospel and is just my opinion but i do beleive my predicament with alcohol consumption is similar to yours and i know the longer i go without the more serious the all out binge will be.If i keep things contained to weaker beers on a regular basis with alcohol free nights in between i'm a happy and contented man.Even if i go for three days without i know my thought processes will be swaying to that of huge rewards for my effort which in the end is counterproductive.
If you feel you can do it this way then go for your life but be realistic and dont kid yourself or you'll be puckering up for a fall.

Agree with STEF its not always the best option to just stop drinking much better to be sensible and reduce it slowly. One of the problems I think is if you have always had a drink on a night to chill out then its hard to stop doing this as you have a hard time relaxing without alcohol.

Its easy for people to say pack in drinking but to be fair they don't know why you drink. It could be to escape from currnet problems for a while etc

I have quit drinking but smoke dope only on a night it helps me to relax and gives me a break from my condition. Now I know a lot of people would say you don't need drugs to relax etc but they don't know me or how my condition affects my life.Like STEF once told me if it is helping you and as long you keep it at a sensible level then whats the harm in it.

Different people tackle their control of alcohol consumption in different ways. I cannot do what S-T-E-F does for example. If I tried the route of moderation, it would fail after the first drink. I haven't had a drink for 9 weeks (to the day) and yes, initially it's difficult - but most things worth having in life are. There is a little voice that says 'just one wont hurt', 'go on, you deserve it', 'you've been good for a few days so it's your reward'. Only you can be honest with yourself as to what works. If you aren't honest then you're cheating no-one but yourself. I really hope you find a way that works for you in the long term...good luck mate

Good luck with the new journal and training regime mate.

Good to see you are approaching things with more confidence and motivation. So,a week Monday and football is out the way and time to concentrate on keeping the booze intake down.

I am doing fine with my drinking now.3 or 4 beers on a Saturday lunchtime and i am content.

If only i can stop eating the chocalate that has seemed to replaced the booze.

I'm exactly the same mate, not had a drink at all since new year but I can't seem to stop the ice cream, it's almost like a binge at times.

I am the same 40 plus mate. As soon as I stop the beer I hit the food big time. That is why I am going to sort my diet out and aim to control the alcohol to once a month. I honestly find it harder to moderate the food at the moment

Had 2 lagers last night in a BBQ..was planning to drink the rest of the lagers in the fridge (14 bottles odd)

Got bored after two and went onto the pints of water. I am definitely over the worst of it now as in the past those 14 bottles wouldn't have touched the sides

I must admit mate with this warm weather I've really fancied having a beer.
It's very tempting on these warm evenings.
