Hey. As titled, are Innocent Smoothies and acceptable drink whilst bulking or cutting? Before anyone lol's at me, I'm complete new to the diet thing, I know I can make my own smoothies, but sometimes its more convenient to buy some pre-prepared. So in saying that, I just wanted to check that I was allowed to drink them! :)

So in saying that, I just wanted to check that I was allowed to drink them! :) Innocent have very high standards when it comes to production, so their store bought smoothies are better than most. From memory, it's just fruit mashed up and mixed. In terms of vitamins and minerals, yep you're sorted. However, the disadvantages are... 1) Fruit is very sugary (in the form of fructose) - bulking, that's fine, cutting, potentially now because it massively ups your carbs and sugars. 2) What was the quality of the fruit like that went into it? Organic, non-organic, good, bad? 3) What - if anything, as I've not got any info in front of me - preservatives do they use? It is also very pricey - you're getting probably 3 pieces of fruit for 3 quid - which obviously means you're adding alot of money into your weekly food budget if you grow to rely on them.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was thinking more of a casual drink whilst at home, but I'll probably stick with plain old water.

putting some protein powder in a shaker and grabbing a banana Thats exactly what I do. If it is just a drink you want, just have water or tea, or cordial (no added sugar)

I think they are fine to have now and then. Prefer to make my own though.

Nothing wrong with an innocent. It's just fruit. They are massively overpriced though.

rthey are pricy but they contain zero bad stuff be it preservatives or whatever - hance the name and the adverts. whether there overpriced i dunno, hard to tell when you cant see the quality of the fruit they use. there nice though and if you spread them throughout the day they prolly wont have the same negative impact that the sugar content might have otherwise, though i'm no food expert me. still, they get the thumbs up from me. by the way, asda and the like tend to do offers on them, and when there not on offer they also do a asda copy aswell for a third of the price. i dunno what the product quality is like in those either though, sorry. not much different thoguh i would imagine as the superstores tend to demand serious standards these days, much to the upset of the producers as they dont get paid any more for it really afaik

I usually get their breakfast one with the Boots meal deal when at work, but I'd think your own would be better.

Innocent Smothies are literally pureed Fruit... Whilst they are essentially 'Innocent' the guilt is the fact, you may just as well make your own with a blender and some fruit as they contain no additional benefits...

Drink water and make your own smoothies! Most home made smoothies are better and are they are always cheaper!
