BA is great and has a lot of research supporting its performance enhancing effects, but like creatine, it must be 'loaded' rather than inducing an acute effect. Here's an article: Beta Alanine for performance BTW-There's an article about AAKG on the site as well.

they both have different functions. AAKG helps for the 'pump'. Take it 45 mins before a workout on an empty stomach Beta-alanine helps to buffer lactic acid in the muscle(s). It can be taken any time in the day. Take it with carbs though. 4g a day will suffice

Dependson the workout your gonna do, if its weights sessions then AAKG would prob be best, but if ure going for a long run or something then BA would prob be better

Alos dependent on the manner in whihc you weight train. Low rep/long rest periods/strength training will not see an effect from BA usage. Higher volume/rep/short rest periods/training may.

Improved performance in exercise where a drop in intramuscular ph contributes to fatigue. Lab based testing has demonstrated that increased carnosine concentrations can improve high intensity cycle ergometry and isometric exercise. No work that I know off has shown clear positive results in a more applied setting i.e. running or weight training performance. One paper has shown that a combined beta-alaine/creatine supplement produced improved weight training outcomes (better body comp) than a control group and creatine alone supp (Hoffman et al. 2007). Another paper showed no difference in muscle mass and strength gains through weight training between a beta-ala supplementated and placebo group (Kendrick et al. 2008).

As mentioned in the article, people who train with low reps would benefit by the improved activation of fast fibres as well as delay of neuromuscular fatigue.

so the main benefit would be allowing you a longer workout and avoid fatigue from that addes time working out?

buffers acidosis. is you are doing high rep stuff might be handy. even then i'm talkking relatively high intensive activity as iaink has , despite the rise in carnosine, the results on body / comp and performance are not as impressive as you'd expect

the effect of all supplementation in this are is likely to be very small whenever someone asks this question the first protocol should be diet and routine check and a reality check. are you expecting too much too soon? are you eating enough. .. ..

aakg is a good supplement- as already alluded to it gives a "pump" in the gym, i include this in my supplementation for its immunomodulation properties. been a bit wary as of late as the places i have bought from each batch seems to be different on each purchase. best place and best price i can find now is bulksupplementsdirect

The only study to assess low rep weight training and the effects of increased carnosine concentrations has seen no effect on low rep training and strength production. A lot more research isn needed in the area to full ellude carnosines effect on the above.
