Probably 400 cals or so burned so yeah it definately should

I'll give it a go. I won't get there every lunchtime as I'm sometimes busy, but even 3 a week with my 20 mins on a morning will help.

Right, I've just managed to get to the gym this lunch time and do 30 mins SSCV. I also did 20 mins this morning after my weights so things are looking good.

But I couldn't help noticing how strong I felt. I know, I was doing SSCV but I felt like doing weights. Probly the downside to AM training and feeling half asleep when I do weights.

I'm now very tempted to do SSCV on a morning and go and do my weights sessions at lunchtimes. Which spurs a new question.....

Can I do the SSCV fasted? I'm up at 5.45am, and training begins at 7am. So thats over an hour?

I like fasted SSCV as I've always done it that way, but this new job has totally thrown me. Is that too long to be up and not eating???

Nah, after all the comments about HIIT plus low carbs plus the amount of weight training I'm doing, I'll stick to SSCV.

Would you recomend doing it unfuelled on a morning, when I've been awake for over an hour?

Ok I'll try that. Am I ok to have my Oats and whey shake after that or do I need fast carbs?

you dont need fast carbs unless youre doing HIIT or circuits mate

its SSCV remember so you wont be doing anything to warrant using fast sugars. Just oats and your protein source will be fine mate

Dont think so much anyway, just train and keep an eye on nutrition

either/or

prefer fuelled tbh

an hour is plenty of time to get in a small meal/shake

One more question.... thinking too much I know!

The only issue with lunch time weight training is, if there's a problem at work I might miss the session.

But I could skip cardio the following morning and make the session up. Then train again at lunch time.

Is weight training twice in one day ok? It'd be different muscle groups and properly fueled. And it'd only be an emergancy type thing. If it's happening regularly I'd switch back to AM weights.

Thats the only problem with a 5 day split. You miss a session and you've missed a muscle group.

yes do whatever suits you best mate, me personally i would drop the 5 day split and go with a 3 day or 4 day tbh

if youre intent on doing the 5 day and miss a day just add in a set of the exercises you missed into the next day no biggie, drop the rest time and up the intensity

I've tried all the splits, but 5 day suits me best. Especially with my limited time in the gym. I can train a body part in 25 minutes and I'm done.

Suppose it's hard to go back after a 5 day split, as the sessions feel massive when you start doing more than one muscle again!
