I've long heard, especially on this board about taking dextrose or maltodextrose, cant remmeber, the correct one, with your PWO shake to spike your insulin levels. In your opinion how necessary is this? I have never tried it and wondering if it something that I'm cheating myself out of. What quantities do you use in your shake and what brand do you use?

In that case, "fast" carbs PWO are optional. If you feel like crap after a workout without PWO carbs, take some. If you feel O.K, you don't need it. You're going to be eating carbs PPWO anyway.

I agree with nigeepoo, but at the same time I'd be willing to try it. The cost is so ridiculously low that it's worth seeing how your body responds. But that's just me.
