The guy is an amazing deadlifter. Here's a clip of him doing 430kgs as a 125 lifter - not even a super heavy!

Mad strong... I thought the rounded back was a big no-no.

His lower back is actually really straight... a lot straighter than most.

'Head down' lifting is an accepted style... there are other greats in the past who have lifted as such.

A bit of rounding at the thoracic spine on max deadlifts isn't a massive deal, some powerlifters say it helps make lockout easier!

cool good info there.

saw my osteo today due to lower back pain after moving toward a more powerfliting based routine this year, so basically squatting and deadlifitng every week and upping my numbers greatly. basically had some compression between thoracic joints (even though my pain was lumbar) which he loosened up and there was one that wouldnt pop (this one was lumbar) so i'll get that one done next week, feel loads better already. he reckons i may have also slightly strained my erectors too. he says it will just take time for my body to get used to the increased load. so will rest this week.

i think my form is pretty good but am thinking of investing in a belt for singles, doubles and triple attempts, i have tried an inzer and find this really uncomfortable (too much so to wear!), along with some other heavy duty leather belts. does anyone have any experience with the schiek neoprene belts? they do a 4 3/4" and a 6", i assume i;d go for the 6".

only prob i could idetnitfy with form is i think i sometimes pull to far out, basically not keeping the bar close enough to my shins. will try and get a video soon.

I move my belt up a little when deadlifting compared to squating. I find it is easier to get in position with it a tad higher

I assuming he puts it there for the above reason and where he needs the support the most for his technique.

Great videos

I love the video of the comp. That first lift (405) - he just marches up to the bar, lifts it like it was nothing, does a little bow and then wanders off. Brilliant!
