I'm doing a 10k run on May 18th and still on a bulk. Realistically, i'm guessing I'm not goign to add MUCH muscle if any between now and then. So wondering what to do with my diet, say from now on until say few days before event. I was thinking of upping carbs and lowering protein a bit few days prior, but whats best thing to do in mean time? Not done much running in last few weeks due to injury (calf muscle) so findin it hard goign done about 3.5-4mile toight but 'im carry a fair bit of excess fat! Any tips? Rodge

i think what you want to do is lower carbs and keep fat and protein high a few days before the race you might lose a few pounds but ths will be mostly water, this will help you run a bit better, then after the race resume as normal. the question wasnt clear what you want, so just a guess.

basically, mate what i was asking was shall i lower overall calories now, as being in calory surplus between now and 18th of May its unlikely i'll be adding really any muscle mass even if i keep training hard. I htough a few days before race a should maybe carb up a bit, and reduce protien a little?

carbing up will add mroe mass if you consume more carbs then your body can process, drop the carbs slightly and raise the fats, you'll lose weight as i said but it'll be water. makes running easier, raise carbs on the day to give yourself energy. avoid sugar from now on.
