| Kyusho -> RE: Deloading (May 6 2008 21:44:02) | It depends on the cicumstance. If you feel overtrained (tired all the time, lifts going down, depressed etc) then i would suggest taking a complete week off. If this isn't the case, there are a number of things you can do. I would suggest simply lowering the weight lifted for each lift by say 10% or so. Then you can concentrate on form for a couple of weeks, working upto and beyond your previous personal bests. Play around with rep cadence, rest times etc.. no one can sustain giving 100% one hundred percent of the time, the best thing to do is cycle how much effort you put in. Have periods of ''maintenance'' where you concentrate on form and ensure everything such as diet and rest scehdules are in place before attempting to break int new territory-build up to this phase slowly and plan your growth. Training 100% of the time can be very taxing and ultiamtely lead to overtraining. |
