one thing that gets me is the attitude of staff in shops, they act like your custom is the biggest inconvenience to their day possible, you feel like you are intruding on their private conversations when you want to get served at a till and they just carry on discussing nights out and all manner of private things whilst serving you, not even acknowledging you

This is not meant as a sexist comment, but so far the worst rudeness ive ever seen, has come from the female section of society. The worst i find, are mothers with prams who act like the world owes them something chavs are the main offenders. Amount of times one of them has ran into me with the damn pram, instead of asking me to move, ive lost count.

Second to that, its arrogant drivers. Ones who beep when you take longer than a second to pull away when the light is green, and ones who drive up your arse when you stick to speed limits.

Its everywhere, im actually a bit more tolerant nowadays, because ie realised how highly strung people get. Figure i have to help in balancing out the attitudes!

ive not read all of the replies but i have noticed more and more that people are ruder and ruder and also mostly angry

LMAO - I was in a very minor RTA a while back and me and the bloke who pinged me are having a disagreement on the side of the road when some moron behind us decides to beep his horn for us to move, then holds the bloody thing down.

In unison he got a "shut the fcuk up" and two glaring stares. He slunk somewhere under his dashboard for the next five minutes.

Keith, while I agree people are definitely getting ruder, they are pretty extreme examples and ones which I seldom come across in the circumstances you describe.

Saying that though, my ex did attract this kind of rudeness, bless her, always when I wasn't around though

I have to say James, things like this were a rarity when I lived in Kettering, Gloucester, Cheltenham etc etc but seem to be normal life in Peterborough.

The area could make a differance IMHO.

I was at my lads boxing club today which is in a supposedly rougher area (Clayton) than where we live (Droylsden).
Yet driving round, kids were playing in the street, people were talking outside the shops and there were next door neighbours sat out together in the sun.

My GF actually noticed and said when we drive round our way all you see is people with bad attitudes trying to to look tough, little kids who are out are in 1's and 2's rather than play together and you don't see many neighbours chatting nicely and people rush to the shops and rush back home.

These 2 towns are 2 miles apart and to look at it today it's obvious we have lost any community feeling so people are going to be more likely to be rude to each other.

Maybe the people in Peterbourogh have lost the community feeling as well.

Totally agree with that comment. They think they have the right to have a go because your a man and can't do anything back. They want equality but expect us to stand there bitting our tongues.

Do you mean the old-style policemen with the whistles and the fallen arches?

IME none moreso than Post Office staff ( shops not the Posties themselves ).

The country is just a far more selfish and self centered place now with too many people full of their own self importance.

Autoroties will be allowed to do their jobs with less scrutiny, treat criminals the way they should be treated per case.
