| Noddie -> RE: Strength requirements for woman in police (May 7 2008 14:45:41) | daveyboy - that's exactly the same as Thames Valley Police. Northants is pretty similar - in fact they all are these days. Expecting much strength from people was determined to be "sexist" as the typical woman has less upper-body strength than the typical man - I realise that may not be the case on this forum..... It itsn't hard to pass. What will screw you up is if your BMI is too high or too low. Don't ask me why they bother since there is no in-service requirement, unless you join a specialist unit like firearms. Anyway your chances of sucessfully running after someone when you're wearing a stab vest, utility belt, radio, CS, Batton, boots, NATO pullover, helmet, paperwork and a tonne of other crap are next to bugger-all and you'll probably have a car and radio to hand as well.... |
